  1. Past hour
  2. Yes, that is what absolutely what I want. WTF! I try and give you the benefit of the doubt, but often wonder if your sole reason for being here is to $hit on the fanbase.
  3. His star would be higher today if scored on that breakaway he had recently.
  4. too funny ... but if only Krebs had a better shot. His skating is ok, he is willing to work hard and get dirty, his passing is ok, but his shot is a pop gun.
  5. Are you gonna send that link with the Lyon and Hamilton conversation on it?
  6. Let's try to piss off as many people as we can in one single game.
  7. How dare they both leave
  8. Wings are red hot. We stink. This is the kind of game the boys frequently inexplicably win. 5-3 Sabres
  9. Could be complementary skill sets of their linemates. The Sabres needed more grit and they got it in Doan. McCloud plays pretty fast but isn't overly physical. Tuch is physical and skilled. It sets Doan up in a good position. Meanwhile in Utah (and granted I don't know much about the team), maybe Cooley and Guenther are defensively responsible enough that a free roaming JJP doesn't hurt the line's +/- numbers.
  10. He said it in reference to if fans wanted to hear the Sabres broadcast of Dan and Rob.
  11. Doan and JJP are two different players with different abilities and attributes. From a talent standpoint, JJP is more talented, especially offensively. But from a roster building standpoint, Doan adds something that was desperately needed. I’m sure Peterka will do well in Utah. And from a Utah perspective it was a good deal for them. On the other hand, from a Sabre standpoint, it addressed a big need for us. If you factor in the addition of Kesserling in the deal, then it was a beneficial deal for us. In general, this was a fair deal for both franchises.
  12. Today
  13. Potential 4-peat has gotten harder. Fraser and Cloutier signing with Las Vegas.
  14. Decidedly not a kid anymore. I've said it here before: Man, he looks the part. A really handsome guy. The social media team loves him. And I am sure he's a very popular teammate. A beauty, as the hockey players say.
  15. Agreed 100%. What's the expression used in other sports (football, mostly, I think): He's a 'tweener. Not skilled enough to play top-6 in the NHL. Not enough of a psycho to carve out a meaningful role on the 4th line.
  16. Too soon to say. He’s 24. Has a few years before his prime. Produced 28 points last year on mostly 4th line. His defense is no liability. +/- neutral player. If he fails to generate more offense still a valuable piece given his compete and intangibles, imo Watch him interact with teammates on the bench. Kid is enthusiastic and upbeat. 80 game player last two years. Easy to see why Ruff likes him.
  17. Not funny at all, a lot of us have thought about this very thing. Its not about what they have done up to this point, it is about what they are doing right now and going forward this year and beyond. Also, Sound defensive play and a physical game can make up for any extra offensive production. Doan scored 17 goals per 82 so far in his career, Peterka is at 23. Not to mention Peterka has played with higher quality linemates/offensive ability and with a lot more minutes on the PP. There is a case to be made that Doan will prevent MORE than 6 goals a year than JJP over the course of an 82 game season. I'm not saying Peterka is worse than Doan. JJP may very well be the better player. But in the very small sample size we have of Doan, it is worth the discussion (that is what message boards are for, right?)
  18. I would take Danforth over Krebs. In a short time he became the best face-off guy on the team, and he was really good on PK.
  19. A top prospect is never a "throw in." That said, it's a little early to judge his impact.
  20. This thread is very funny. Talk about a little premature JJP, age 23, 245 gp 69g, 85a, 145 pts Doan, age 23, 68gp, 14g, 19a, 33 pts.
  21. -I could see Doan and Peterka getting close to the same productions numbers and Doan having a better all around/physical game making him the better/more impactful player. -I could also see Doan slowing his offensive pace and getting half the goals of Peterka, even with a better 2-way game his overall impact being less than Peterka. I could see it going either way. Its too early to tell.
  22. This. I was really hoping he could be a very good fourth center who could spell occasionally higher up but he has started this year very slowly. Some guys just have a hard time accepting who they are. I think Kozak is surpassing him as the fourth center.
