Per the Wings in-rink stats, they have Detroit only out attempting the Sabres 48-34. Being outshot 33-10 (at least by their count), would've expected the Wings to have more attempts and the Sabres less. Probably why the game seems less lopsided than the score indicates. (Though Detroit has definitely been the better team.)

Hate the new electric rates that got approved fairly recently. Last month, 1/2 the bill was delivery charges. This month they're 60% of the bill. (Used to be more like 20% of the bill.) And NYS wants to force everybody to be 100% electric in the near future. New structures aren't going to be allowed to tap into the NG grid as of 2030. This rate structure is nucking futz.

Yeah, they watch what other teams do and try to emulate it, but it's clear they don't actually understand what the other teams do. Really believe they're trying to emulate Carolina's pressure PK, but Carolina doesn't pressure over the entire zone. They pressure when the opponent has limited options and they can then outnumber the puck carrier AND take away the limited options. And they get the goaltending that can cover for them when they oops it and let the puck get through to the puck carrier's teammates. The Sabres pressure when the other team has multiple options and they don't manage to take them all away typically. Just have this sneaking suspicion that if you ever get to talk to Wilford he'll proudly show you his new watch - it's a Rolodex. 😉
