  1. Past hour
  2. There was a two minute minor called on the play. In hindsight, it felt light.
  3. Lindy would have challenged and lost. The Edmonton announcer said Lyon left the blue paint on his own, so no interference. 😂 The NHL makes it up as they go. A puck randomly hits the back of Tuch’s glove before a goal, it must be a hand pass. Winning In OT was fun. 2 points accomplished, Edmonton gets a loser point but they are out of conference so no big deal.
  4. Someone else can queue up the "It's been 84 years".
  5. It's tough because what do you consider... Talent? Raw talent like pure skating speed, size, quickness of release? Those are physical abilities that some equate with talent. If we consider that talent then Dylan Cozens is a top 50 player in the league. Does talent include thinking the game? Hockey IQ? That is a little bit harder to measure. For those who remember the NHL in the '80s, a guy like Dave Andreychuk or Tim Kerr could score 50 goals in a year. They had talent in terms of good hands, but basically they stood in front of the net, took a beating, and were there with good enough hands to knock in a lot of loose pucks. They were big but they really didn't hit, they were slow skaters, not the best stick handlers or passers either. But were they any less 'talented' than someone else Who would score 5 or 10 goals less but skated up the ice as one of the fastest skaters in a league and occasionally put the puck through a defender's legs (Joey Mullen for example?)? In terms of raw skill, they checked a lot less boxes, but in terms of how they played the game, did that matter?
  6. Why would you say this unless you never want the Sabres to improve?
  7. He got a shoulder to the head while in the crease. Could be concussion. Could be a neck injury. No call, of course, because Buffalo Only with us.
  8. Apparently there's was also an uncalled icing on the final Oilers goal too.
  9. Not over-turning the game tying goal I understand. The league will say something stupid like because he was not in the crease, it the skater’s ice too. It was all the shirt tug tackles that they didn’t call that really fried my ham. Just ridiculous. But hey, don’t be a crap team and you will get those calls.
  10. Sabres still need a couple of guys who can score with nasty and petulance.
  11. Today
  12. He didn't think the tying goal was reviewed per league policy. Whatever. He clearly would have challenged it. He would have lost it. Maybe Lindy is dumb, too. Or cagey. The owner is dumb enough to believe injuries/bounces/reffing.
  13. All my years watching hockey, and the goal reversal call and the way it was an " after thought" was something I've never seen. That was a screw job!
  14. I enjoyed the game. I still like the players. I don’t think they are a collection of losers. I think they have been collectively placed in a near impossible situation. So when they win a game and it is clear that they are getting to experience some joy and satisfaction, I like that.
  15. What happened to Ellis? Did I hear possible concussion?
  16. Lyon's leg was hooked/impeded by an Oiler just prior to the tying goal at 19:59 and he was out of position because of it. But, y'know, that's legal if McJesus's team does it I guess.
  17. I think it’s conjecture mostly. Adams hasn’t gone out of his comfort zone on coaching hires. He promoted Granato from within, and then replaced Granato with the one NHL coach that he knew and was available. Had the team been successful under Ruff, then Appert would likely have seemed like a reasonably logical next in line. As is, it is hard to fathom. I can’t imagine the next GM hiring Appert, unless it is someone like Forton.
  18. So they didn't win in regulation? Ruff pretty mad at the reffing.
  19. I think the loss to Calgary 'broke me' for this season. I watched last nights game (missed most of the first period but saw the rest) Im happy they won, at least on the surface. But when they scored the game winning goal, I had almost zero emotional reaction. In my mind I could possibly muster a "yay" but it didn't feel like anything. I'm going to rewatch the replay of the game today, like I usually do when I have time. But, its just like I felt the most 'anger' this year with the team after the loss to the flames, and the most 'indifference' after a win last night. I guess this is right about the time of the year per usual they get me to that point.
  20. Problem is they have talent, especially on defense, but they are not talented in the way they should be, as in defending your own goal.
  21. I heard he went to take a dump and pulled a stomach muscle. Out indefinitely.
