I for one think it goes without saying that we'll have a lot less Canadian's buying tickets. Buffalonians dont want to buy tickets for the games, I can't see Canadians wanting to anymore than us. Beyond the tariffs, with the images of immigration agents locking people up & sending them to places unknown, how much value would going to a Sabres game bring versus the risks or costs that a Canadian must consider coming over the border? Wouldn't it just make sense many would say its not worth it? Heck there's a patriotism angle to it as well, where if i were a Canadian, i wouldn't want to come here after how we've treated them. 35% less might be undercutting it. But i suppose we won't know the real impacts until the season comes about.

Picking Atlanta as your example was not the smartest thing you could have done. A massive two time hockey failure city and someone is going to invest $2.5B on another Atlanta team? There is no reason to think that Pegula would sell them to someone that will move them. It would hurt his standing as a Bills owner for one. Josh Allen will not play forever.

JJ gets first line minutes without earning them. On a decent team he is 2nd liner moving to third as he plays no defense. We should trade him if there are teams that think he will be a difference maker.

Samuelson, with that contract and injury history, is untradeable. Would you want him? Long term commitment to a guy who will be available half the time and soft as a marshmallow the rest of the time.

I should amend this. Ideal "forward" size. There's a bunch of evidence that defense is looking at 6'2" to 6'5" as ideal size.

Well ya, that's the Pegula way but I don't see him actually doing anything remarkable. Rochester was competitive because of a wealth of top draft picks. That's not his doing, that's a result of the Sabres sucking. I don't see evidence of building a winning AHL roster which would have more toughness and AHL vets on it. Not to say that's his fault, because it's likely an organizational approach but I don't see any great success at any level for anybody in Sabres management.

Here's the thing, you trade for Rossi, Rosen and Östlund are basically redundant pieces here now. Rosen already is but, and ik some of you will be shocked, you can't run a forward group of 5'11" forwards. It's just not gonna work. You can fit Rossi and Benson on the roster and Helenius has a chance but adding Östlund and Rosen... meh.

Its off season, I don't believe anything that guy said about JJP, Yeah his defensive game can be worked on, but no reason to trade an 80 point player.

1) they move so called centers to wing in those things all the time. 2) doesn't matter what his stats were. He experienced winning. That's the thing.

I think its more about that Aitcheson is just something we don't have in the hard to play against role Its also extremely possible that after the summer we wont have Byram or Samuelsson here, so suddenly left side of the D looks weak I am more on the Martin or Bear train of we keep 9

Eklund doesn't need to beat out TNT/Tuch/JJP/Benson/Zucker/Greenway to make the roster. Just Lafferty, Rosén, or Östlund, or (Quinn unless if he's moved). Kulich I'm already assuming is a lock. Edit: And Helenius. Benson beat Jost, Savoie (injured in preseason), Rousek (Amerks leading scorer the previous year), Kulich, and Rosén. You could also argue Biro or Murray if you're generous to their then-contracts. And also Olofsson, who was the first guy dropped out of the lineup while Benson stayed in it.

It makes sense for a team that needs to win now Most of the time that would not make sense, but Buffalo needs to win now, and Weegar, yes 31, is the exact kind of defensman we dont have and the exact that we need. We dont need another 24 year old offensive defensman, we have that in Power and Dahlin. If either one of those werent here you would never make that deal. But we have (like it or not) made our bed with Dahlin and Power and we need to build around them.
