  2. I think the whole point of Chinakov would be to create depth and options. Quinn/Zucker/Chinakov/kulich for offence Benson/Doan/Greenway/McLeod for defence Ideally you’d have 8 options to plug into 6 spots in your top 9 You mix and match around Norris, Tuch and Thompson based on health, chemistry, opponent and who is going well. Krebs, Danforth and Malenstyn are your 4th line options. Basically it’s about not repeating the Quinn Achilles mistake and starting the season with more good players than what you need.
  3. We look for these on cruise room doors... and we actually find them.
  4. That's what I tell my wife. Hasn't worked.
  5. Krebs or was thinking Rosen
  6. Today
  7. Late West Coast Road trip this year. It's been a while since I was in Anaheim/LA in late March. St. Patrick's Day in Vegas could spell trouble for some 716 fans travelling to support the team. March Madness offers enough reason for overindulging in adult beverages in Vegas. Toss in a Sabres game and St. Pat's holiday, and it could get ugly. I'm visiting family in mid-October, so it looks like Colorado and Florida. It could be worse.
  8. That’s the guy I want. Future 1C.
  9. If Chinakhov is basically a slightly lesser Quinn, the price that would make acquiring him worth it had better be no greater than a combination that comes out to a slightly lesser Quinn. Personally, if they're going to make a genuine swing for a player, I'd like to make a play for Mason McTavish. Most don't trust KA to make a smart big move (and I can't recall him ever implementing a significant trade that wasn't predicated on a good player demanding out). You can point to small prudential moves along the edges that have yet to result in a substantial difference in team success. That's the frustration, but it doesn't mean a lot of folks here just want the Sabres to take any old swing just to do something.
  10. Chinakov - 6'1, 205, age 24 (25 in Feb 26) NHL - 175 gms 34g 37a 71pts 14 min/gp -42 21st overall in 2020 draft Quinn - 6'1, 185, age 23 (24 in Sept) NHL - 178 gms 39g 58a 97 pts 14:30 Min/GP - 26 8th overall in 2020 draft Quinn has been the more productive player and is slightly young. If Quinn is the trade target for CBJ, we'd need a little more than Chinakhov, especially as Chinakhov could easily bolt to the KHL after next season.
  11. Anyone else get an email from the team with an offer to get the season opener for free with the purchase of a 10-game flex-pack?
  12. His father was tough as nails and won a cup. If Jake brings any of that then this is a fine thing.
  13. Ruff sees Greenway (and Zucker) as leaders on this team. (Not replacing Dahlin but supporting him, Tuch, and Thompson.) Doubt either one would go out the door this off-season. (But, suppose for the right deal ... just doubt it'll be there. The Sabres value him likely more than anybody esle would at this point in time.)
  14. Not sure how it started but I have been binge watching Notting Hill. It's funny and goofy, but somehow endearing - ordinary bloke gets the popular girl and all she wanted all along was a normal life. The East End London slang is top shelf and the supporting cast is fantastic. It's just great. Man, I'm pathetic.
  15. In some respects, but again the vast majority have been bottom of the roster type deals. He did strike gold last year with McLeod and Zucker, and they are probably his better transactions over his 5 years as GM. Unfortunately, the deals also haven't made the team better.
  16. Quinn is the only forward that Columbus would plausibly want, that makes sense to me, from the Sabres perspective. I’m not opposed to trading Quinn at all, but I don’t think a “change of scenery” trade makes a lot of sense here. Also, while I’ve nothing against Chinakhov (I mostly just know him as the guy Jarmo took the big reach on), he doesn’t seem like a missing piece for the Sabres.
  17. Looking at Chinakhov's career to date, it looks a little like Quinn (with Quinn the more productive player). He's 24, clearly too good for the AHL. He has spent most of his 4 NA seasons in the NHL. In 23/24 he put up a respectable 29 pts (16 goals) in 53 games. He has some size (6'1 205 - elite prospects) https://unionandblue.com/posts/columbus-blue-jackets-2023-2024-player-review-yegor-chinakhov-01hwzbtsdvm6 Apparently he has an elite wrist shot. He has one year left on his current deal at 2.1 and is a RFA with Arb rights after next season. This doesn't seem like a terrible idea at all assuming Adams can make the deal. Here are the questions 1) Where would Chinakhov play? - Thompson, Tuch, Zucker, Benson, Quinn are presumably locked in as 5 of the top 6 wingers with Doan and Greenway fighting for the 6th slot. You aren't acquiring Chinakov without having a slot for him in the top 9. 2) Which forward(s) get moved to make room for Chinakov. Right now the Sabres have 14 forwards signed for next season with McLeod, Norris, Krebs, Danforth, Kulich, Malensytn and Kozak (no longer waiver exempt) in the mix with the 7 wingers mentioned above. 3) Does he really fill a need? Kulick, Thompson, Norris, and Quinn are all known primarily for their shooting. McLeod showed last year he can shoot as well. Tuch is also a talented goal scorer as is Zucker. We honestly need more playmaking. 4) What does he cost? Can Adams pull off another McLeod for Savoie type deal? Chinakov for Rosen for example? What about Chinakov for Krebs?
  18. If it's a weekend night, I am good with that.
  19. Yes, but not reckless ones. His moves over the last 12 months have been ok, IMO, but if he starts throwing first-round picks after this guy, no. I still don't trust him and probably never will.
  20. I picked up a couple at target this past Christmas. They were placing new stickers on every card at the register and then scanning those. The guy told me it was to prevent fraud. So I guess at least target has figured it out.
  21. We already added a younger version of him, Doan. I don't see much value in adding Joshua at this point unless you're able to move Greenway out, which I doubt they can.
  22. I don't remember how they ran lines in Winnipeg. That team also had Geekie.
  23. Wasn't Savoie his center most of his Jr career?
  24. Idk maybe. I don't know chinakov at all.
  25. But it doesn't make it wrong either. Adams needs to take some risks to improve the team.
