  1. Past hour
  2. I can see Helenius coming up at some point but unless there are more injuries I expect they give him more AHL games first. Remember when Quinn-Cozens-Peterka became our 2nd line? They were all like 20-21 years old. They worked well together, could score, but had no two-way game. IMO Cozens suffered from too much too soon and lost confidence. Peterka was smart to leave at the first chance. Quinn is a shadow of the Prospect he once was. So far in two games he us invisible, he never has the puck and stays on the perimeter. Something is wrong.
  3. Ow, en one other thing. Powerless.
  4. I think you are hitting on the right points. Puck battles are a problem. Slow to get to a loose puck, not working hard enough. The Power Play is bad and has been for a long time. I wanted Geertsen to pummel Zadorov, that would have been a worthy contribution because he can’t play a normal 4th line shift.
  5. The hired Jarmo too. Jarmo is a former GM.
  6. SABRES SCORE, BUT LOSE AT BOSTON Raves WGR-55
  7. Because we like to give out bloated long term contracts and there is no accountability for whatever happens on the ice.
  8. A small ray of hope: three seasons ago the Devils started the year with back to back 5-2 losses and Devil fans were chanting “Fire Lindy”. Five weeks later they had won 16 of their next 17 and the fans were chanting “Sorry Lindy”. I guess there’s a chance?
  9. I saw a quote in a report from someone with Boston who said something to the effect of “what are they DOING in buffalo, man?!” … because Adams needed to mother may I Joki for a 4th. It seems to signal the worst kind of meddling: Largely uninvolved and uninformed, but wants a say in everything just the same.
  10. Today
  11. After the fiasco that was Adams’s first year as GM (the Covid year), the Sabres had back to back seasons where they exceeded expectations. The Sabres went from being a disastrous 55 point team to a 75 point team to a 91 point team. Adams read this to mean that he knew what he was doing and he failed to recognize the streak of good fortune that the team had during that stretch. Then in 23-24, Granato’s last year, they regressed to the mean and were a 84 point team; while that team disappointed fans after the 91 point season prior, they played to exactly where most models were projecting. Sadly, the wrong man paid the price for the setback. Say what people will about Granato, but in his 3 full years as head coach of the Sabres, the team met or exceeded objective expectations for wins and losses - based on the roster - every year. Adams learned all the wrong lessons and rather than making real and meaningful and needed roster adjustments, he replaced Granato with Ruff - likely to extend his own window as GM - which has been a disaster. I think we are watching a group of players who subconsciously (and probably consciously) know what time it is. There is a next to zero chance that a Kevyn Adams and Lindy Ruff combo, lead them to long-term success. Adams has never done it. Ruff has made the playoff in 3 of his last 11 seasons as a head coach, and has not led a team to the playoffs in back to back years since 2011. These are not the men you task with ending the longest non-playoff streak in NHL history. On one level or another, the players know this.
  12. He could have, but he drafts using Fortons brain and Forton does not understand heart or analytics. I shouldn't be able to routinely say "they should have taken one of these two other guys instead" and almost always be right. Dustin Wolf, Luca Del Bel Belluz, Marco Rossi, Luke Hughes, Luca Romano. I could probably name more but who cares? The point isn't oh I'm so smart, it's how are the Sabres so incompetent. It's funny, I don't hate Benson, Mrtka, or Helenius... it's almost as if something else is saving their first round picks... coughkarmanoscough
  13. Since this thread turned into a "I'm always right" thing... Marco Rossi!
  14. And now there are two. The rest of us will join the chat eventually.
  15. Sabres can't win a game without Zach Benson, just sayin
  16. I notice 2 things about this poster vs poster battle going on above. It appears I have been drawn into it myself. First, one side, Thorny, seems be almost as concerned with defending himself, and how smart he thinks he is, as he does about the actual content of his post. There is a lot of mentioning of himself and how correct he is. As stated above, there is a larger than average does of narcissism when someone needs to do that so often. Second, the Island comment. I think figuratively it can be viewed like one a cruise ship sailing by and telling the people of Australia they are on nothing but an island. It appears that island is very large. I personally have a difficult time respecting a post or poster that feels the need to outright state that their posts are better than others, they know more than others, or they are correct more than others. If that were true, it would not need stating.
  17. Second game of the season. Booed off the ice in game one, after being shut out on home ice. And they can't even be bothered to show up for game 2. I'm actively rooting against them now. I want them to fail so bad that none of these overpaid lazy losers ever get a job again outside the Swiss third division, playing for 712 people in the stands, on Sunday afternoons, if at all!!
  18. We all post our opinions on here and we all think what we say is correct, or we would not post it. But @Thorny, he comes at you and tells us to stop posting things that he disagrees with, and then he feels the need to post to for everyone to read how he is right more than anyone on this board......that is some next level Narcissistic personality disorder stuff right there. Buddy, we all may not be correct all the time but despite what you say, neither are you. Respect what others have to post even when you disagree with it. There is responding to a post showing respect for it while pointing out examples of how your opinion differs...don't have to resort to telling people to stop posting stuff just because it disagrees with your high-and-mighty narrative.
  19. Take your mind off the doom and gloom of the sabres…. The Clan won last night in a tight game at home against the Belfast Giants. After a scoreless first period, Neumann opened the scoring at the beginning of the 2nd. Clan then went behind as the visitors potted 2. Clan went into the third determined to get at least a point and took the game to OT with a goal from defenceman Jason Fram. Three minutes into overtime and the purple army were bouncing as Darien Kielb landed the winner. Highlights to follow.
  20. I should think the Pat Lafontaine fiasco was confirmation that Terry was/is the problem.
  21. Oh stop message me and show up I’ll open it
  22. Honestly I’d rather listen to Taylor Swifts latest LP front to back right now than watch the Sabres play. And I get physically sick when I hear her music. Fan for 50 years and Pegulas era has gutted my love for this team. It feels like self flagellation just putting the game on and with an 0-2 start its groundhog day all over with no end in sight. Look in the mirror Terry. Be honest with yourself. The answer is within you.
  23. Who took Sabrespace blowing up after two games for 100 Alex?
