Your spot on, but I’m sure Adams will ***** up the Byram trade whenever it happens!
-
One thing positive to applaud on this highly underwhelming day. Adams must be puffing his chest out real far.
-
I'm good with it. If he regresses SLIGHTLY its a decent deal. If he plays the same as last year or better, its a great deal. Plus, don't need another hole at center.

Letting the days go by, 14 years and no playoffs Letting the days go by, no one wants to sign here Into the blue again, after the hope is all gone Once in a lifetime, misery flowing underground Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, same as it ever was

Scrimmage is usually 3-on-3 -
Well, you could hit on 2 of those. And 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
-
Seen Geersten play on the Silver Knights a lot and the guy will drop the gloves but will never see the NHL like ever!
-
Sabres fans NEVER have a happy Canada Day. 😞 (Maybe it just seems that way, it's been so friggin' long.)
-
Small kudos here to Fairburn. Rare thing this day and age to see a Buffalo reporter break Sabres news.

Sabres sign Ryan McLeod to a 4 year extension

Reactions abound! Nice contract, very good 3C, low 2C when injuries hit. Nice. -
The annual Sabres fan exercise - day 1 of free agency. Run downstairs hoping to open some cool new toys from under the tree, open up a box of socks, some underwear, and an ugly wool sweater from Aunt Tilly.

Always hustles. Very good deal. -
Chad D: expect a Byram trade at or around the draft
JohnC replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
If the Sabres are not going to retrieve a top 6 forward from a Bryan trade, then just keep him. With him, our blue line would be a quality unit with an offensive bent. The hope will be that players such as Quinn, Kulich and Benson improve to compensate for the loss of Peterka. This franchise created a toxic reputation that has foreclosed a lot of player options. So if you can’t get a fair value back in a deal, then accept that ugly reality and work with what you got and do your best to maximize it. -
He's a very good player. Ideally is the 3C but can play in the top 6 in a pinch. Kind of a really fast Jochen Hecht. Nice Swiss army knife to have. Glad he wants to be here.

To the Canadian SabreSpace Cadets here, have a happy Canada Day. I meant to send this out earlier but got caught up in the frenzy. 😝

Every year I do this to myself. I slam six shots of hopium on July 1 because THIS IS THE YEAR we return to being a legit NHL franchise again. Trade JJP? I wouldn’t have done it, but five mil in savings toward getting someone even BETTER. A big fish! The Sabres aren’t even fishing in NHL waters. Again. I’m tired, boss. @dudacek’s penny pinching posts are spot on. Ugh. This team.

Somebody good wanted to be be here for a fair contract. I honestly can’t decide whether to go with joy, cynicism or weathered indifference. Maybe:
-
Yup
-
I'm happy with that contract.
-
Not that I was expecting much of anything, but *fart noise* Lyon is...meh. I'm sure he'll be fine like Anderson & Reimer before him. I'm glad they re-upped MacLeod. He's a good, speedy two-way 3C. If he can contribute 45-50 points, that'd be great. Danforth is probably a 4th line upgrade on Lafferty who was useless. Letting JBD walk after he played reasonably well is ***** dumb, but not surprising for KA. Don't see anything that makes us much better. Still a lot of runway until the season starts, so I suppose more moves could be coming but nothing to be overly optimistic about today.

A good GM, good coach, good president of hockey operations. Heck a new building with modern amenities for the players, anything to get players here
-
An actual hockey player. Neat.

At least the guys who are here (and note, Peterka ain't here) do seem to actually want to be here. What a sad consolation on what used to be a very funny day.
