  1. Past hour
  2. Phyllis George?!?!? Hated CBS's NFL pregame show back in the day. Jimmy was the only nearly redeeming feature of that. Brent, Irv, and Phyllis were all completley insufferable. AFC all the way for this kid. MNF too. WAY better football and broadcasts. Besides, never owned a VCR until the day before the Greatest Football Game Ever PlayedTM.
  3. I'm finally watching the Kesselring presser. First, I should have known he played his high school hockey in NH. He sounds like a great kid and there is not a hint of disappointment in his demeanor. In fact he's sounds excited to be joining the Sabres.
  4. Go re-watch your Phyllis George videotapes and leave me alone, Taro.
  5. Yes. And seemingly either a swap of 1st rounders or an additional 2nd rounder for $5.5MM in cap space. Been fooled at least twice and counting trade deadline time about 5 times about them planning on using that cap space to improve the team. When that cap space actually gets used, will believe they are going to use that cap space to improve the team and not 1 second before then.
  6. We got what we needed for defense…I think. We still have Byram and other assets.
  7. Will be depressing if Peterka does what Reinhart did when he went to the Panthers. With the Sabres, Reinhart's highest goal total was 25 and he was a -28 in his last season with the Sabres. He has averaged 40 goals per season with the Panthers and he was a plus 25 in his first season with the Panthers.
  8. We traded scoring for defense/grit
  9. Wow. Not only does he come back but now he's telling people how to meme. Never thought we'd see THAT day come. 😉
  10. I'd be interested in Hagel if he's moved.
  11. You're accusing Adams of spreading bad stories about JJ, but a podcaster is flat out saying something concerning and you choose to ignore it.
  12. I don't know....I have been pretty consistent saying he was the 3rd or 4th worst guy on the team in his own zone. Others who are saying that now after the trade I recognize as some people who posted the same thing throughout the year and even last year. So I'm not quite sure the 'sudden' part, a lot of it has been said about him for a while.
  13. Not better, if all you're looking at is offense. We got better defensively.
  14. Do you really want Krebs fighting in practice again?
  15. Clearly, they are not spending to the cap. They are not serious about winning.
  16. Or Doan can go back to his dad’s 19 now that he’s in a place where it isn’t retired. Edit: Ah crap, it’s taken. But maybe Krebs isn’t around next year.
  17. Prove it. 23 on this roster nearly has him above the median.
  18. Lol, so it’s all JJP’s fault that this team didn’t make the playoffs. Not the bad coaching, poor management, defensemen who can’t play defensemen or the crap goaltending. No it’s JJP’s fault because he was out for himself. I’m sorry, but that’s really funny. Yes he did. He’s also only 23.
  19. Clearly he put work in. Did he EVER put in any work beneath his own blue line, at least after he got to the NHL? (He did get better about not sprinting up ice as soon as the Amerks might've gained control of the puck that rookie season of his under Appert.)
  20. Well I guess if Craig and Petey said it must be true. They have never ever floated pure BS during a podcast. Give me a break. No one goes from the AHL at 19 to a nearly 70 pt player in the NHL at 22 without working hard.
  21. Thing is, IF in fact he did want to leave (and the coincidental evidence indicates he might've) it doesn't fully make sense that it's because he couldn't abide Ruff. Wasn't part of the reason they brought Appert up was to "work his magic" with Peterka and Quinn and the others that "learned how to be pros" under Seth's wonderful tutelage? Shouldn't he have been able to be JJ's Craig Patrick when dealing with his own Herb Brooks?
  22. I have said nothing about Peterka being a “bad apple” and I spoke out in favour of trading him long before last night. I thought he was a talented cherry-picker who refused to get his hands dirty and backchecked like a 6-year-old. He was handed a golden path to the first line without ever having to earn it or shoulder the responsibilities that came with the role. He didn’t earn the contract he just signed any more than any of Adams favoured children and I’m glad we didn’t give it to him. And I guess he did pretty much force his way out of town. But apparently we’re not allowed to talk about such things because they somehow obscure how awful Kevyn and Terry are? We know how awful Kevyn and Terry are. Nothing gets talked about around here more.
  23. This is the scary part worst case scenario and why I believe it’s the only reason Adams has a job. We aren’t spending to the cap. Guys from ROR to Reinhart to Eichel asking out and immediately winning Cups. If we’re seen as a toxic organization bc Terry won’t pay or meddles way to much - you can’t survive that because the sad truth is Buffalo is Buffalo compared to every other city it is not at the top of anyone’s list of places to move and start families. Hockey players are not like football players. They have longer careers and have more say in where they want to go - or at least NOT GO. Thanks NMCs.
  24. Just sell him. Not the type of player we need to build a team hard to play against.
  25. The only thing that gives me pause on Peterka was the fact he didn’t hit it off with Lindy whereas the rest did supposedly over the season. Now there’s no context to what that alluded to. Was it they didn’t see eye to eye comedically, that doesn’t matter. Was it preparation, then that could be a problem but not necessarily. Was it that Ruff wanted Peterka to put more effort into defense, that would be a serious issue.
  26. I do think we can put to bed “the losing got to him he saw how inept the organization was” narrative. Jeremy White was saying in NOVEMBER he’s heard rumblings that JJ doesn’t long for Buffalo. So obviously, that was right. How could it be the losing? His first season was the we just fell short of 8th season. Season 2 was the disaster with Granato. So by November of season 3 he’s decided he’s done here bc of the losing? We jumbled up this drought into JJ’s 2 plus seasons here. This was something else and not money. The player either hated the city or the team wasn’t really long for him - maybe the speculation stuff off ice/attitude and what not was seen as a problem. Losing. Doesn’t make sense.
