When you think about it, all the Sabres need to do is fire and then hire one person to fix this ship. -

The problem isn't lacking the urgency as much as it is having the ability to translate that urgency into production. I assume you watched the Carolina game and many others. This team, especially after being subjected to a number of injuries, simply isn't good enough to maintain the puck in their zone, even with a man advantage. Compare how other teams handle the puck without sloppily losing it as the Sabres often do? Even if one doesn't have much knowledge in the sport (count me in that unschooled group), it was evident to the untrained eye that Carolin was the better team. The problem with the Sabres is that it is an assembly of parts that don't properly fit together. The parts value is greater than the team value. This is where we are at and have been for quite a while. When you have the same people at the helm steering the ship it shouldn't be a surprise that they become stuck on the course they have unwisely set. There is a bland sameness to this Peugla franchise that is dispiriting. -
Play him and hope he looks better game over game, trade him and his full salary to whoever will take him, run Ellis and Lyon for the rest of this year, keep one for next year and have them split time with Levi next season. I still think UPL is a starter in this league, but I'd rather use that AAV hit towards a top 6 forward due to the inconsitency issues with his health and play coupled with fact we have solid alternatives on the roster now. Lyon, Ellis, and Levi are going to be cheap through next season and that will get us through the bid AAV hits from the Skinner buyout.

It is a really odd contrived question given the quantifiable malfeasance of the current GM and the fact making the playoffs is not going to happen. However I will answer the question, No sneaking in means nothing building a winning organization that can perform and compete at that level is what is needed and the whole current group needs to be totally replaced before I believe it would be possible to even start to do that. Keeping a group that took 6 years to sneak in and hoping it could be successful and even repeatable is whack.

I say yes, make the playoffs. If they play at the 100 point pace from now on this season, which is what they would likely need to do to make the playoffs, that is a sign that something went very right. If something goes that right, I will take that and evaluate at the end of the year. It may be mostly a moot point because what are the odds of that happening? I do not think they are high.

And if changing the General Manager of your hockey club doesn’t make *any difference at all* than there’s zero argument that a 3rd line lineup decision makes any difference and it gets to the point where I don’t even know what we are doing here, then. Your stance mandates that we should change nothing because nothing matters unless the owner changes thankfully we don’t need to debate the value of incremental improvement because, as mentioned, even if you told me the result would change not at all, I’d want to see Adams canned as GM

Yes, McCormick's career ended due to blood clots, which was a tough loss for the Sabres at the time because he was really just starting to find his game. The clot started in his calf and worked its way to his lung. I hope Kulich makes a full recovery and is able to successfully treat the condition. -

Holy guacamole...Buffalo is cursed this year...Bills and Sabres just getting hit with serious injury after serious injury without any let up. -
I found this interesting... On the national hockey show on 590 out of Toronto, they just spent a lot of time talking about Edmonton's goaltending problem. One of the hosts just brought up...what if Edmonton were to go after UPL out of Buffalo... The other host said he can't see Buffalo doing that... Because his understanding is when UPL is healthy... That's Buffalo's guy. The problem is he just can't stay healthy. They kept on saying he was a 'good player' and a 'good goalie' and that it wouldn't make sense for Buffalo to trade him. Anyway, I don't know how plugged they are into what's going on with theSabres, but both of them seem to think that Buffalo is still 100% behind UPL and would not want to trade him.

Adams should take a good look at other teams healthy scratches and try to get some help. It is painful to see a lineup like thay.

It's like we're the can that never stops being kicked. Even w/ out a #1 center, we've been somewhat competitive this season, and now this. This is beyond being cursed. -
im glad you deleted the other post cause it didn’t make sense. I wasn’t saying firing him fixes eveything and it’s “simple as that” I literally detailed that I would take a great deal of satisfaction in it even if nothing else changed. I wasn’t supposing it was a guaranteed fix all and never said that also I didn’t say to stop posting about it lol I was saying to stop missing my point in responding to me in saying, “but it might not change anything!” (you responded to my post, here). My point being that I literally do not care if it doesn’t change anything (even though I think it could) - and I keep saying that. I’m not triggered, I just don’t think you are registering the fact that one can be fully aware it’s not a guarantee of anything yet still want to see it.
