  1. Past hour
  2. The news of Rosen's recall preceded the news of Benson going to IR. The original post was only about the Rosen recall and had no mention of the Benson IR move (it was merged/updated later), hence the banter on Rosen.
  3. Doesn't matter if it gets you over the finish line. GMs don't do well with asset management across the board.
  4. Agree with all of this. As for Levi, while I don’t blame his camp if they did indeed request a trade, I don’t have a problem with how the Sabres are developing him, with the exception that they initially rushed him to the bigs. Since then, he’s on a good track. I’m struck by the similarities between he and Ryan Miller’s development curve with the Amerks. I think the job is Levi’s for good next year. That said and while I previously thought that they would keep him in the A this season unless disaster struck the Sabres, I won’t be surprised in the least if they bring him up sooner. He’s been too good to ignore in the A since last season.
  5. He's an idiot. His crusade to draft rhd is bizarre at best. Gonna be HILARIOUS when they end up drafting a D at 11 this year with Klepov on board. Sure he's a winger but good God have they just not drafted forwards since 2022.
  6. Living in Pittsburgh? I thought you were in Lewiston. NOTE: If you scoreboard watch until January you might miss the season.
  7. Good thing Lindy has last change - that third line could get crushed.
  8. Benson seemed to slow down the last few games, the effort was there but the burst was not. Hope he comes back strong. That is hockey, so now it is time for Isak Rosen to get a look. Hey All, Hockey DB has a new picture and updated data on Rosen. He is now listed at 6'0 tall and 185 lbs - proof that these kids keep growing after the draft. I think he has listed at 5'10 and 160 pounds at one time. In addition his skin cleared up and his beard is coming in. He looks much more mature than my past memory of his picture. He also has 5 goals and 12 points in 8 games so far. Maybe, just maybe, he will show something on this call up. I am rooting for him!
  9. Lol. The emoji reactions say it all.
  10. He has the coolest name. By far. Of anyone on the entire roster. Maybe the entire active league. Ruff made sure Geertsen was on the roster with a 2-year contract and in the opening night lineup... and can't even get dressed against Tom Wilson.
  11. Meh, I was seeing 45-60$ for uppers (before fees) usually one of the secondary market apps. They may have come down. But for Utah I was seeing seats as low as 17$ I like to try and get 200 level seats and they're priced much better on a week night than a Friday or Saturday evening.
  12. When it comes to our goalie situation, I don’t pretend at all. If Lyon was a legit starter in this league, he’d have been one a while ago. We currently have two 25 game backups and a career minor leaguer at the position. Ain’t no pretending when it comes to that hapless scenario; only delusions of grandeur for the hopeless.
  13. Is this what you've meant by your "Go Blue" posts? I honestly thought you were misplacing Michigan college football posts or something.
  14. Rossi, Jarvis, Lundell and don't forget centers Dawson Mercer or even Cole Perfetti. Quinn is looking like a miss when you see the centers he passed on but he scored big with Peterka in the 2nd round. Oh wait, he is gone too. Peterka - Eichel - Reinhart Pretty nice first line.
  15. It’s not that I don’t like him, it’s that he is not the answer for a starter between the pipes and I’ve grown weary of the delusional idea by both KA and fans that he somehow is and/or could be. All because of one twenty game stretch a couple seasons ago that he hasn’t come close to replicating either before or since. We saw the same when he was with the Amerks.
  16. Ha ha. Well my friend you are looking at that scenario right now. My "fine" means it an option that keeps the one line that is working in tact, but I get it. I actually like Greenway as a bottom 3/6, if he can stay healthy he contributes. It is Nov 1st and we are on a 3 game losing streak, loser points aside, that is what I am most worried about. Tonight they need to get 2 points. Yet UPL is getting his second start and Ellis has just one. ???
  17. I know you mentioned the word “package”, I’ll spare you my usual rant about the proliferation of said “trade packages”. If the team wants to make changes, it’s needs to start with Power or Byram. I doubt Östlund is much more than the equivalent of a 2nd rounder. So if the Sabres “trade package” includes Power and Östlund, I can’t imagine Noah elevates the package much.
  18. This is where Lindy really disappoints me and why I agree his coaching is mediocre at best and we should have done better. Ellis literally contributed to the teams win over Detroit, UPL I feel is still in a conditioning mode only having played 1 game with Amerks on a supposed conditioning assignment and 1 period preseason and 1 game in NHL. Meanwhile Levi is excelling in Rochester already this season, it gives credence to the rumor Levi's camp asking for a trade seeing this level of mismanagement from GM to head coach. Oh and living in Pittsburgh and watching some Penguins games and their supposed demise given their age and missing playoffs last year with a rookie head coach and a bunch of 1st year NHL players leading their division and playing well proves to me an effective GM, good coaching and solid goaltending is a recipe for success if you know how to put a team together and know what your doing. They are my team to watch right now instead of this SOS(Soap Opera Sabres) team. Good luck Sabrespacers watching and hoping. I'm still just going to be scoreboard watching this current edition of the Sabres until i see where there are in January.
  19. Or we could package Ă–stlund in a trade for something better.
  20. If Noah becomes a 20-20 player, I'll be pleased
  21. Today
  22. I, for one, like Rosen's game and expect he'll do well tonight with Kulich and Quinn.
  23. Insurance. UPL is nursing something, and Levi needs starts in Rochester.
  24. Or knowing that your Franchise Center asked out when you were appointed GM, maybe draft one of Rossi, Jarvis or Lundell instead of Jack Quinn.
