I believe rosen was injured last night as well.

Yeah, Benson has a motor, so does Doan. We need to add more players like this. Maybe Helenius someday? Kozak - I would not call him high motor as in high speed, but he plays smart-motor, he is steady and efficient. When Mike Peca was an Amerks coach he spoke highly of Kozak and thought he had good potential. I think we are seeing that now. Maybe Kozak could project to a 10-12 goal 4C, and one that can shut down the opponent. He looks sturdy and he plays a smart game. He is just 22, but I can see him being a savvy vet someday. His AHL days could be coming to an end and he has to clear waivers to go back to Rochester. It will be interesting when UPL, Greenway, Danforth, and Norris come back. If we keep 3 goalies for awhile what will we do with the excess forwards? Gertie will be waived. Kozak vs Krebs is an interesting decision for Adams. As well as Danforth vs Malenstyn vs Greenway.

Who's a solid/scoring winger in Rochester? ... Rosen? oh ya, for sure. wtf, boys. why are you always getting injured.
-
Maybe not, but just as fragile.

Next guy being called up from Rochester:

Some of it is circumstance. In Matthews case last year he had some injury issues and he was playing for a defensive minded coach. I think a healthy Matthews on a free wheeling team he would be right back to where he was. A few games in he is still probably a point a game player this year. McDavid I kind of feel that there is less and less support around him. It's him and Leon doing almost all the work. Both these players reached very lofty levels that would be hard for anyone to maintain. Go back and look at Crosby and Ovechkin numbers and I think you see what Hall of fame stats look like over the years. It's hard to expect some of the outlier years that these guys had all the time.
-
They're not, no. Yep. Which sucks because if he fractured something, then we're looking at 6-8 weeks.
-
Just fyi, a conditioning stint cannot last more than two weeks. Also, in Kevin O’s story from last night, “Luukkonen said he accomplished what was necessary, though he said he wasn’t sure if he will rejoin the Sabres or play again for the Amerks on Friday.” Sounds like a decision is coming by the end of the weekend.

I thought shoulder last night, but after watching that again, he's not favoring that at all as he leaves. It has to be something forearm/wrist.
-
I think he bent his left wrist, it may have curled under too much, from the contact and followed by the pushing off.
-
Idc if he's an alien, they keep playing the way they are, draft them. He runs his line and is a blast. 8g, 10a in 11 games. 2nd in the OHL in points.
-
Guess Östlund ain't going anywhere soon.

I agree with you that to get a full picture on a play it goes beyond the end result. The general point that was made by the analyst is the importance of the attention to detail. And the clip he showed demonstrated that point. It began with an advantageous situation in our zone to losing the puck, resulting in the play going the other way. The too often haphazard play shouldn't be a surprise because for the past number of years the Sabres have been a very young team not sufficiently instilled with how to play a more mature and responsible game. As time goes on the younger players are getting more experience and the roster is being steadily reshaped/augmented with more experienced players. Hopefully, that augurs a better future.
-
Looked like his left arm...wrist, elbow, shoulder? who knows. Hopefully nothing too bad but I'm expecting to hear the dreaded "week to week" prognosis. If he's back in the lineup anytime before mid-November I'd consider that a win.

That list is always long in the NFL, people only think it's more because certain types of injuries have increased but others have decreased. Overall that hasn't been much change.
-
Made a number of good saves the first goal he might have been better. Tampa's Geekie is a good shooter. The second he did not have help around the net. Late in the game Amerks had 2 men in the box but Syracuse could not score. All in all a good nights work.
-
For whatever reason, injuries appear to be up not just league wide, but professional sports wide. Take a gander at the NFL’s injured reserve list. Its why depth might be the single biggest attribute amongst the league’s elite.

I thought Thompson looked lethargic at times.
