Thankfully every day is complaint day when it comes to the Sabres. In comparison, for me, everything is great! So I'll wait until tomorrow to post more. 🙂

Chad D: expect a Byram trade at or around the draft
PromoTheRobot replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
But you aren't on the phone now. So you don't know what's being offered. He may be getting offered 3rd line players. Do you want more of those? I doubt it. -
The good thing is Roobroeck provides some of the vowels missing from Strbak and Mrtka.
-
The question is, is Norris healthy and recovered from his mystery injury of last season? Do we even know what was wrong with him?

Chad D: expect a Byram trade at or around the draft
DarthEbriate replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
The primary value that Adams saw in Kesselring over Rossi can be summed up as: Kesselring is making $1.4M this year and is a RFA next year Kulich is locked in as a top 6 C for two more years at $887k Rossi wants $7M this summer Kesselring has potential. However, thus far, Kesselring has been a 5/6D forced into 4D minutes last year because of injuries. Rossi, since recovering from myocarditis as a result of COVID, has been on a steady ascent to the Wild 1C or 2C, depending on the day... until they ran into a superior Vegas team in the playoffs and the coach demoted him to the fourth line for being too small and facing the likes of Eichel, Hertl, Karlsson, and Nic Roy shift after shift. -
Noted. Also saw this posted elsewhere.. it does make sense then. So I retract my criticism... a bit. It's still all crap.

There's only 32 NHL owners in the entire world. He is in a very small club. That he's had the worst results of anyone in that club over his tenure doesn't change the fact that HE is IN that club and WE ain't. And IF he ever moves on from Adams, he has a chance to do what he did with the Bills and Bandits - luck into a really good GM that'll turn everything around.

Pretty much a big whiff as a 1st round draft pick. I know not all of them hit but every Sabres twitter jackwad was pouting like an insolent child after the pick and they were right making this even less enjoyable. I didn’t know anything about him but quickly came to the conclusion that he wasn’t anything they needed and was a reach by the every measure. Draft guys that don’t look like the league will be too much for them and run them over immdialty. See Jiri Kulich or Konsta Helenius. They’ve already shown they can hang with the pros and possibly excel. Drafting waify kids who have no chance of competing has to be something we can rely on my the scouts and GM.
-
I secretly hope we don't draft high enough but Roobroeck, right now, is my 2nd behind McKenna.
-
Why not add the "local" kid in Ryan Roobroeck? He plays for Niagara and wouldn't have to move far to come to Buffalo. 6'4" C.
-
Thats a big percentage... lol... yeah, I like to have hope even when its fleeting... but bottom line I expect a guy that may get called up from time to time but ultimately plays in Roch until we don't want to offer him another contract... and he plays in the AHL for some other team or goes to Europe.. thats my guess... but who knows.

It just boggles my mind that Pegula is 0 for 14 at the playoffs and still walks around with pride for owning the team
-
Probably premature because I don't expect Byram here, but aren't most people expecting: Byram Dahlin Power Kesselring Samuelsson Timmins Something Adams said about helping Power makes me wonder if we could see: Byram Dahlin Samuelsson Kesselring Power Timmins Four reasons: Adams says he wants a simple puck-touch, low-risk type playing with Power, that's Timmins game and he played his best hockey being that guy with Karlsson This set-up allows you to shelter Power somewhat at even-strength and rebuild his confidence against lesser opponents Kesselring's attitude may bring out some of that from Mule and help him play more like the concept of Mule The size/range of the second pair is such that maybe you can lean on them in defensive situations
-
I hope so. JJP’s game was “sexy” but these guys bring something different that could lead to wins.

Just sign Byram to a bridge contract and trade futures for Rust and call it a day. -
I like Ĺ imon KatolickĂ˝ a 6'4" LW from Czechia who won't be 17 until the end of July.

The offseason so far - Are the Sabres better?
oddoublee replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
He hit w Tage...thank God. But the strat unfortunately failed. That's too low a batting average when it comes to signing your own (although he gets a pass on Skinner...that was pegulas blunder. I believe the rumors that botteril was not high on doing it) -
They came into the off-season with a plan of swap out the back up goalie, swap out a couple of the bottom 1/2 D, and swap out most of the 4th line, and IF there's a deal that improves the team then consider trading Byram. Oh, yeah, and can the S&C coach, he ruined our season. What part of that indicates there may be a new FO if this fails again? That's the plan of someone that beiieves they're on the right course. Now, it's possible that Adams job IS on the line. But he sure doesn't think it is. (Pegula is the one who's opinion matters; but Adams has done nothing to indicate he might be looking for a new person to sign his paycheck come next July.)

I think the JJ trade will turn out like the Savoie trade. Everyone around hockey fandom will say “The Sabres got destroyed” in the trade but after a season it turns out that the Sabres did very well. Fans will enjoy what Kesserling and Doan bring to the team.
-
I have to say, i do not disagree with you here. We were a good offence last year. Only JJP out and we will have a full year of Norris. If our defense and goaltending was not a sieve last year, they would have been someone better. IF this team actually forechecks and plays a more physical defense and not allow other teams to just walk in our zone with just a stick check, there is a possibility it may not be that bad. The players we brought in is really what this team needed outside of more scoring. Trying to stay somewhat positive and not be miserable.

All I’ve got is, no RHD needed.

Draft season will kick off with the Hlinka tournament and yea... so here's the primer for the 2026 draft for those who are interested.
-
True but if you look back the Sabres organization has no idea how to draft in the 2nd round either.
