  1. Past hour
  2. Likely correct. But that's why these are a best out of 7 and not 1 and done like in the NFL.
  3. True, but because the Sabres drafted him they ended up with 2 very useful players - McLeod and Benson. Really doubt they have either if they hadn't drafted Savoie. So, some good came out of that selection.
  4. You don't think Zach Benson is tough?
  5. Greenway is the softest 6 foot 6 guy around. Benson takes bad penalties but that is not tough.
  6. He'd be a great add, what are you suggesting to get him? Power and our #1 and...? or Byram, our #1 and...? Or you one of the crazies that thinks we should move on from JJP?
  7. We have our suspicions but until you see them in battle you don't know. Peterka might step up; Benson may get run over. You never know.
  8. I would say no.
  9. Since someone asked about Knies
  10. Unless he's a spiteful person. Then, he could sign under market value with the Sabres just to piss off the Leafs fans and organization. That'd be fine. Edit: If he lets the hate flow through him, only then I can add him to my might be interested list. If it's about money/term and giving himself the best chance at making the playoffs, then he won't consider the GMKA/Pegula avenue anyway.
  11. Good teams figure that sort of thing out. Which most likely means that the Sabres have no chance of signing the guy. (Btw, I don't think he'd come to Buffalo anyway.)
  12. Today
  13. Nah. He's a bust. He wouldn't make this team, either. He always was going to be a bust.
  14. The Spittin' Chiclets guys had Tkachuk on, and Tkachuk was saying he feels sorry for the Leafs because they live in such a high-pressure fish bowl. Also, I think there's a lot of truth in this: So, the question becomes: if Marner were to go to another team, does he learn from his experience in Toronto and figure out how to compete in the playoffs in another, more chill market? If he can do that, then what's to stop the Sabres from trying to get him?
  15. The nice thing about the Bryam situation is he’s still under team control next year. So if Adams doesn’t find the right trade he can sit and wait.
  16. I'd sign Marner if possible. I don't think we'll be able to sadly.
  17. I do. It's not 2006 anymore. The league had new rules and Buffalo was able to exploit them. It's 20yrs later under the cap system, everyone adjusted. This one thing worked this one time, so 20yrs later we should do it again. If it was going to work it would have last year. The leagues changed, development has changed. We gotta let 2005 go.
  18. The portion of the online Sabres fan base that doesn't want Marner because he allegedly underperforms in the playoffs is unfathomable to me. I would throw my back out doing a nekkid happy dance* if the Sabres were to somehow sign that guy. And, imo, you would be able to book the Sabres for a playoff berth. *In the privacy of my own home.
  19. We have some players that look playoff ready: Tuch, Thompson, Zucker, Greenway, Malenstein, Benson, Kulich--if he keeps his head up--and McLovin, while I'd be a afriad that Quinn and Peterka might get run over.
  20. Ya, I watch almost no western conference games so I can't relate. Everyone is questioning JJP's defensive game, but what about his forechecking? That's just as important in tipping the ice in our direction and I don't consider him a real grinder at all. Samson does well enough in that, maybe JJP gets better?
  21. He didn't miss your point. Like me, he just disagrees with it. The whole, "some fans will just never be happy" is pure BS.
  22. From the JJP thread I think this applies to all of the Sabres forwards that have developed in the system. There is simply no data on them relative to the NHL playoffs. Who will be a lion and who will be a mouse?
  23. “What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge goalposts?” “No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to.” The truth of the matter is there’s a level of Final Boss fan evolved well beyond the matter of simply moving goalposts. They’ve eliminated them entirely: the logic being the rather gaslighting tact of claiming the level of fan satisfaction wouldn’t change regardless of the result, therefore rendering results in effect meaningless. Ie if you can’t be happy with the team as is, you never will anyways.
  24. That guy would not come here in ONE MILLION years, nor would anyone else with that kind of talent.
