With the amount of higher-end prospects we have in Rochester I was always a bit annoyed every time he got a call-up. I always felt we should get getting our blue-chip prospects NHL experience so they could figure out what to work one when they get sent back down to the AHL. Calling up Rousek was a wasted development opportunity for higher end talent, imo.

Well, it was a nice run, but the Hurricanes had to eventually win a conference final game since that fateful day almost 19 years ago. 0-15 was fun while it lasted.

Kevyn? Is that you?

EP draft guide drops next week. I always recommend it.
-
Exactly, he got a cup of coffee up in Buffalo. Not everyone even gets that.
-
A good AHLer who would get into puck battles and then look to feed his snipery linemates. The last three seasons he was a top five Amerk scorer: 4th (2nd in assists), 5th (1st in assists), and 1st (1st). Best fortune to him in the SHL. And then there was one. Ryan Johnson is now the sole remaining player in the Sabres organization from JBott's 2019 draft class.
-
Yeah, probably best for him. Didn't make the jump is the perfect way to phrase it. But hey, not every late round pick is going to be an Olofsson. Byeeeee Lukas.
-
Thank you for your work in Rochester, good luck in Europe Lukas.

I’m adamant on my position on not trading Power regardless of the return. I believe that in the not too distant future m he will be an anchor defenseman. I’m tired of seeing our players on other teams thriving somewhere else.

Mitchell Marner, Unrestricted Free Agency
Palm Trees And Taxes replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Florida, Tampa Bay, Vegas, Dallas are all in the front of the line for obviou$ rea$on$ After that, let's see if Buffalo has a shot at Marner. -
I’m just shocked that they were able to identify the guy with face tattoos.
-
Me too! I figured I would share LOL

If Brannstrom got a thread why not Lukas Rousek. Thought he might turn into a decent bottom six player but he never seemed to make the jump. Too passive and consistently turned down prime scoring opportunities to defer to teammates. Granted those players usually were better shooters but he had point blank scoring chances that he opted to drop pass.

The inevitable “Cooter” nickname is also a huge plus when evaluating prospects

Got tickets for Alsion Krauss and Union Station this Saturday.

I'm headed to Beak and Skiff next weekend for 2 shows. The Avett Brothers are having a mini residency. These will be shows 13 and 14 for me (weather permitting!). Anyone been to this venue? It's fairly new. The reviews seem generally positive.
-
Same. There's a reason they're analytics guys. I'm not one of those.

helluva story. one worth telling to the grandkids someday.

I would like to see them trade Byram for something reasonable. Otherwise the Mitts trade is just reshuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. I like Byram, but I wouldn't say it is super clear that the Sabres with Bo is remarkably better than the Sabres with Mitts. I think at some point this team is going to have to move on from one of its big pieces that will bring a big enough haul to revamp one of our units. If we can get Byram for cheaper than Power and Power brings back a couple of pieces up and down the line up, so be it. I am not sure Power is more valuable to this team than a top 4 RHD and a middle 6F with a strong 200 foot game. I am not saying he definitely brings that back either but that is the type of return I would be looking for and would be willing to pull the trigger on it.

we would have to exceed the next highest bid by massive amount. Taxes in NY are a real detriment to Sabres and Bills. I now have this awful song in my head.
