  1. Past hour
  2. My condolences to Jarmo and his family. We recently lost a person close to us. This is going to be a very tough time for Jarmo.
  3. Maybe. Or maybe it's them finally getting healthy. Or maybe it's finally putting Lyon back between the pipes with a healthy team and both are playing towards their potential. Or maybe it's just them getting to play a string of bad teams and one that's good but underperforming in the 1st half of the schedule once again. We see what we want. So, sure, it's because they expect positive changes might soon be made. Of course, there's only a handful at best that should feel secure in their role should a new set of eyes be placed in charge; so would that cause them all (or most of them) to play better to try to be able to stay a part of the team as it presumably moves in the right direction or would that cause them to grip their sticks tighter as their personal futures are less secure? No idea. Maybe it's a little of all of it. Just hoping this expected move actually happens and that it does trigger better play. This season doesn't have to be lost yet. Well, that would explain his being in Finland the past few days. Condolences to him and his family. May his dad RIP.
  4. Jarmo’s Father passed away on Sunday. This might delay the announcement
  5. Is the team playing better because they know Adams will be gone soon and that is giving them a modicum of hope?
  6. KA this morn has to feel like the old man who fell in his bathroom and got hurt and couldn't get up, and had no hope of rescue because Janine died the previous year, no one ever visited, and he left the LifeAlert in his bowl of Werthers, and then the cat called 911.
  7. You and TaroT should have lunch someday.
  8. The franchise deserved to be crapped on during that extended drought, especially in a system designed for competitive balance.
  9. Normally I'm one of the more positive people on this forum. However.. The Sabres May have 50% of available points, but they've lost more than they've won. They have 14 wins and 18 losses. They've won 14 games, lost 18. Next, in terms of point percentage, Detroit is holding down the last and 8th spot with a .591. what do the Sabres need to do to get to that level? It's an eight-game winning streak. 8. Yes, from this point the team would have to win 8 games in a row to get to .600, which would put them ahead of Detroit's current .591. A seven-game win streak wouldn't do it It feels good to say they are back to .500, but this is still a team that loses more than it wins. Yes, they won a few games in a row. But is being in a position in mid-December where you have to win 10 games in a row... Just to be in the very last playoff position in your conference.... Is that something that should prevent you from making major major changes to your front office? I don't think so. A three-game winning streak is nothing compared to that.
  10. If Adams gets moved out how do you think the players will feel?
  11. Today
  12. Jerry made his bones crapping on the playoff-drought Bills. Habits die hard.
  13. Being at the bottom of the division, or even at the bottom of the entire conference, might matter a lot more if we were in the western conference where the bottom dweller is 26 points out of 1st place, but here in the eastern conference we are only 12 points out of 1st place and just 6 points out of 8th. With a goalie who plays as well as Lyons has played, there is really no limit as to how far this team can go. Do I think this justifies keeping KA? Absolutely not.
  14. The reporter was born a curmudgeon and reported throughout his career as a curmudgeon. That was always his persona and act. And he would be the first person to tell you that it is so.
  15. Lyon's the man. Shocker. In other news, you don't fire your GM in the midst of a heater. That's just the real world. Not if Dude is being offered up as a sacrifice. If it's a golden parachute as part of rumored reorganization, the announcement could come anytime. But you can get more bang for your buck when everyone is in a tizzy. Reality: it's not xmas yet, the Sabres are NHL .500, it feels like the season is starting anew. FTR they are 9-6 since ending their losing streak.
  16. I mean, at the time of the message, it was hardly curmudgeonly.
  17. Most of us recognize that he was posting a rule.
  18. A curmudgeon may fade away but he will always be a curmudgeon needling until he exists no more.
  19. Suggestions for next year. End the regular season in week 14. Have 6 teams in the playoffs, with the top 2 getting a bye. Increase the number of IR positions, 1 is not enough.
  20. So Seinfeldian. What is George’s show about!? NOTHING.
  21. Yes on Adams: Only if he completely strong-arms the RFAs and mangles their relations, then fails to get a goalie. No on Adams: But if he nurtures the toughness of Doan and Benson and finds a real coaching staff… Adams has been in over his head from day one. He same in as ‘hatchet man’ ( cutting staff) and created a toxic culture IMO. Then he goes in front of the mic to say he wants guys who ‘want to be here’ while also putting his excuse that Buffalo, NY (palm trees/taxes) are the problem. TP got communication he wanted on his bottom dwelling team, fans got THIS. Overall, KA has made this team worse (shocker!).
  22. @Brawndo is our resident mole. If you don’t know where he is at the first place to check is behind one of the curtains. He’s our in-house sneak. 😎
  23. They should make Adams do the presser and announce he has been fired. Would love to see him get angry in a PC one more time
  24. I have no complaints with the front office of the Bills . I do have complaints with the front office/GM of the Sabres. Why the different views? The body of work that goes beyond one game. This game demonstrated the importance of goaltending. Lyon was stellar. Hats 🎩 off to the team for playing hard throughout the last game of an extended road trip.
