  1. Past hour
  2. Kulich is back on the ice after looking like it could be an injury.
  3. Our local MSG has the Penquins announcers. Thank God.
  4. Quinn can't finish. Looks like 3000 people lost a bet and attended this game. Wow... empty seats everywhere.
  5. It’s lazy for them to show the Pittsburgh feed on MSG but not have the Sabres broadcast audio.
  6. Weak audio on Pittsburgh feed to NHL Network or is it my audio bar? Go Sabres!
  7. I actually don’t care about any players injuries in the team outside of Tage and Rasmus. Almost everyone of the lot can be replaced by someone else on the roster or in the AHL.
  8. Well the hostility stems from a 6’6” first overall pick A) Not exactly living up to the hype B) He doesn’t touch anyone on the ice. That ***** is going to incite a fanbase to froth at the mouth. He may be Hall of Famer but he’s not anything close to what the Sabres need right now. Dahlin is about as close as you’d want. I’d ensure I’d populate the rest of the D with nast snarl mean as fook aholes. Employing a less skilled, less physical Dahlin isn’t really helping the cause at all. Move him out for types of players we actually need.
  9. Reading sports financials. Clark shows up in 2024 and the WNBA has it's best year ever. Still lost 50 Mil. NBA owns 60% of it. LIV golf has lost 1.1 Billion since it's start in 2021. Wash that $ .
  10. Wouldn't mind seeing him there with Norris and Thompson a bit more. He's an intriguing player to put there. When the Sabres got him, he was supposed to be a playmaker and he flashed it a very slight bit. Gut feel is he isn't good enough to be in that role; Benson is and will be better there. But, he was instrumental in 2 goals (granted, against the Baby Pens). IF his forechecking and playmaking could mesh with the 2 goal scorers; that would free Benson up to end up on a different line. They could then bump Zucker down to the line with Kulich and Quinn (or whoever forces Quinn down / out of the lineup) leaving Benson, McLeod, Tuch to be a reprise of the Drury line (a line that can score and all 3 are defensively responsible at a minimum if not down right shut down. Again, not sure Krebs could work well enough on that top line to free a better player up to slide down the lineup. But IF he could; well, the rest of the F's look a lot better.
  11. Today
  12. How long Tuch can be a good contributor is going to depend on how long his skating holds on. If he can keep his legs, he’ll be able to contribute in some form well into his 30s.
  13. Won't miss UPL. Still think he's a head case. Or maybe..it's me !
  14. There are plenty of players who have remained productive well into their 30s who are not "top-level" stars. Hell, Jason Zucker scored 53 points last season at age 33 last season. Brad Marchand contibuted to the Panthers Cup last season at 37, which motivated them to give him a fugazi 6 year extension. This isn't an emotional connection. Tuch IS the team's best two way player. He led the team in blocked shots last year while posting almost 40 goals. He's a good bet to bring value to the team throughout the life of a new contract. When his scoring fades, he still has the defensive game and leadership to remain a contributor. And with Thompson's contract, the Sabres could lock up their two best forwards until 2030 for around $18M. That's less than what they're playing their top two defensemen. Seeing that there is a zero chance of this organization signing a high-end foward with their unused cap space, inking Tuch to an extension is a no-brainer.
  15. I’m curious how many trashing Hamilton for a likely honest error in pronunciation found Don Cherry’s act of doing it purposefully, and out of disrespect humorous?
  16. It's a tough call. I don't like when players are rushed back too soon from injury and it lingers, and maybe never fully heals during the season. On the other hand, this Sabres team will struggle to succeed without their supposed #1 goalie and 3 or 4 of their top 6 defensemen and this team absolutely cannot afford a poor start to the season. They're just not good enough to dig themselves out of a hole. It's too early to judge whether all of these injuries are a) freak, largely unpreventable occurrences that have all, by chance, happened around the same time; b) the team being extra-cautious and not rushing guys back that are dinged up but able to play; or c) a failure of the new strength and conditioning program. Let's hope it's a) or b) and not c).
  17. I'm only going on what's been said on this board - I don't listen to Hamilton and as such, I don't really have an opinion on him one way or another and I have not personally heard him mispronounce the player's name. My take is that if he mispronounced the name once or twice, that's fine, but he apparently does it repeatedly, which is very poor form for a member of the media. It irritates me when media members don't do their homework and mispronounce names and/or overlook or misstate important facts. Most of us have to be prepared to succeed at our jobs and we would like to see our media members prepare for theirs. Having a good handle on the people or events that they cover is part of a media person's job. But enough lecturing on a media member I don't follow. I'm much more concerned about the Sabres' defense and goaltending injuries....
  18. I noticed Brian Duff has something written on his fingers. Anyone know what it is? Tattoo or henna?
  19. Sadly probably! So far key players like UPL, Kesselring (the big off-season acquisition) and Samuelsson are already injured "week to week" So far this pre-season, the PP looks just as terrible as last season, the defense is suspect and the goaltending bad.
