Konsta Helenius is the obvious pick. Zach Jones leads the league in assists, Jake Leschyshyn is quietly leading the team in goals mostly due to call ups.

Well, two of them are currently up with the Sabres. That said, Helenius and Metsa look very good. I’m surprised at what they’re getting from Kuntar so far and Novikov is a steady force on the back end. Levi has been stellar, his last couple games notwithstanding. The Amerks as a whole are a grittier bunch.

He should have never been hired. It’s what I said then and nothing has changed. You mean besides JJP in 2020 and Poltapov and Kisakov in 2022. Plus he drafted 7 forwards in the 1st round. The real issue is how few of those picks are contributing. It doesn’t help that the idiot in charge traded away Peterka. Quinn looks a dud. Savoie was traded away. Kulich is injured. Östlund and Rosen still aren’t full time NHLers. Kisakov is a bust. Helenius is in the minors. Poltapov is in Russia and is unlikely to come over. Benson is the current NHLer who produces but he’s hurt. This litany of failure is just one of many reasons Howdy Doody should be fired.

Well... here we go again. The Hurricanes actually draft well and even play hockey in a fun coherent manner. Their biggest issue is they don't necessarily have a true best of the best but they've got some really good players. Didn't sound like we're getting any forwards back so the questions are simple... can Buffalo stop a Carolina team that's better then them? Who plays pp 1 without Dahlin here? Will Seth Appert ever turn into a butterfly if Pegula likes him hard enough? How many more games will UPL get? When will Kevyn Adams be fired? Isn't what I wrote or have ever said. Bedkowski, stupid pick and I've laid out 2 other players that will have better careers. Luca Romano and Kristian Epperson Kleber, mediocre with the other talent there which includes Ryder Ritchie, Tanner Howe, and Kamil Bednarik.

The weather has little to do with some of our prime players wanting out. Players don’t want to be stuck in a dysfunctional franchise and every year watching other teams playing in the playoffs. The life span of a pro athlete is relatively short and they don’t want it to waste away. As far as your claim that many Sabre fans are rooting for the opposition, it is a silly and nonsensical response considering the wretched record during the Pegula era. What you perceive as disloyalty is the frustration associated with this inept franchise. You are blaming the victim when your criticism should be directed at the perpetrator.

I have a thought that Terry pays top dollar to the Bills staff because the Bills print money, but he scrimps on Sabres staff because they don’t have positive cash flow.

Was it hitting on Allen or was the Bills GM just good at his job? Many complain about various positional shortcomings on the Bills roster, wr room depth, defensive zone coverages that have blown key games, but there is no mistaking the Bills are a perennial playoff team. And ya, Allen has everything to do with that. We got hosed on the McDavid sweepstakes, I will always wonder what could have been. The Sabres just do not have the culture to succeed. The Bills do.

You don't replace a guy like Dahlin. You just don't. But in terms of what you have on D, on paper, it can still work. Two highly skilled offensive D. One or two (depending on how you look at it) middle level defenders. Another half decent big D man and then you add one journeyman (and hopefully not Bryson). Most teams are like that. So it's now on the forwards to step up their D game and play a tighter team concept not relying on one star. They do that they might actually win more. Heck, the PP could even be better (can't be much worse) if they finally start spreading it around.

I agree with the premise that Terry doesn't meddle in football and hence it's more successful. I've said that repeatedly over the years but I would say the Bills would be a very mediocre middle of the pack team without Josh Allen.

Optics? Honestly I have no idea. We can surmise he might be a potential Kevyn replacement but who really knows from the outside.
