  1. Past hour
  2. Crazy ending to this Bruins/Panthers game.
  3. I'm guessing this is highly unlikely, as I'm sure they'd rather the player plays. Is there a benefit to LTIR for out of pocket money to the club? I'm pretty sure there is and that they're glad they don't have to pay a player out of pocket.
  4. Robinson is middling player who isn’t talented enough to make the sabres better. On a great team like Carolina however, he benefits from a far more talented cast. They make him better. So if we had Carolina’s talent, he would played like a champ. We stink and continue to be robbed of talent by Terry’s lap dog Adams, who uses shat gbt to think up trade ideas.
  5. There is no way Sabres management is smart or competent enough to think up and execute this level of conspiracy theory activity.
  6. I am also very tired of losing. But that doesn’t mean blowing ***** up is the best course of action. If a trade guarantees the playoffs, I’m all in. But it doesn’t. I hate where we are as a team, but I’m not cashing out at a top pick right now. We’ve already tried that routine and it didn’t work. We have 76 more games to make this team work. Let’s go.
  7. Any updates on Norris? Also... Just throwing this at the wall to see if it sticks, but when Norris goes on LTIR, does his salary come from the team (Terry) or some insurance plan? If so, could his high potential for LTIR made him more attractive to Terry, esp given Cozens was almost as big of a sink $ wise? This is conspiracy theory stuff I know so go easy on me, but when I see how easily Norris got hurt, I wonder if there could be more to his injury history than we know about. How much the team knew is where I get thinking. 🤔

  9. Honey badger mentality. Maybe a layer between TP and a honey badger is a good thing. As you maintain, any change is better than what they have. You bring in Jarmo/DeBoer and the respect level goes up immediately, it’s no longer howdy doody time. No way DeBoer accepts the current assistants as competent, he has enough contacts around the league to make up a good staff.
  10. Definitely not ready to trade Power at this point. however, I also know that McLeod is a 3rd line center and Krebs at best is a 4th line center. That leaves Östlund and Kulich as your top 2 centers (though I doubt they through Östlund to the wolves right away) This is my long winded way of saying that they need a top 6 center and need to explore every possibility, including trading Power Just talking out loud here but if Vancouver is seriously considering an EP buyout after this season, maybe you need to explore what it would take to get him on the cheap?
  11. I would unless Adams goes first.
  12. I think Ellis was claimed on October 6th so I wonder if they can stall UPL in Rochester for 2 weeks so that Ellis doesn’t have to be sent down. Play him a couple of games and maybe he turns out to be better than UPL. You don’t know until you try.
  13. I guess that is correct. Maybe the lesson is don’t trade for draft picks when you don’t know how to draft.
  14. Everyone was under contract and Pegula didn’t want to pay two people.
  15. Possibly but Rasmus’s biggest issue is situational awareness. Dude puts the puck on the opponent’s stick with a clear path to the net way too frequently for a top 5 in the league dman. It’s correctable but he hasn’t made a ton of large strides in that area yet.
  16. The big problem is why wasn’t Jarmo just named GM. Why wasn’t DeBoer hired in the offseason. They always wait until too late to make any changes. if they do make a move and bring in a DeBoer in like December another year has been wasted.
  17. Screw that rat bastard.
  18. I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if UPL ends up getting waived eventually.
  19. 1) Maybe Georgiev wouldn't come for a PTO. 2) That could happen still. 3) Because he might be pretty good? I hope we see him a few times. Right now the Sabres have at least one, maybe two goalies they could flip in trade.
  20. Yesterday
  21. Now that Luukkonen is starting his rehab stint (which has been known as the plan for the last month since he missed most of training camp and all but one period of preseason) -- it reopens the questions around the number of goalies they have under contract. Ellis has gotten 0 games -- Lyon has been great, but now your backup goaltender hasn't played in over 2 weeks -- and his next game will be his NHL debut and first ever on the ice with these defensemen. It's small potatoes, but it also has impacts with future trades/GM interactions, because STL had him lined up for a heavy workload and development with their AHL starting gig. If they get the chance to re-claim him, you've shafted him a month of development. They're likely less worried that you claimed him and more concerned that you're wasting his time. GMs are a small group and they're seeing you waste assets. Agents see this, too. Ellis' agent is increasing his Buffalo tax for any other future clients. Georgiev has gotten 1 game -- because he didn't report to Rochester immediately. Leinonen has gotten 1 game, because Georgiev didn't report to ROC immediately. Levi has only 2 GP, which makes sense because they were both back-to-backs thus far, but now you're also impacting his development time because Luukkonen has to get reps to resume his #1 (or #2 behind Lyon) status with Buffalo. Ratzlaff has played 1 game with Jacksonville, but now will likely have his workload cut while Luukkonen is in ROC, which presumably would force Leinonen down to the ECHL. This all goes back to: Why did the preseason goalie signing (whoever it was) get a contract instead of a PTO? If it's an Adams Tax, then you call someone else. (Or hire a real GM.) With a light slate to start the season in Rochester, why not let Levi be the backup in Buffalo? Maybe shuffle him once so he gets opening night with the Amerks and a free start in there, but otherwise get his GP in Buffalo until Luukkonen is fully healthy and proven ready to go. Why bother to claim Ellis?
  22. Meanwhile at the Rochester goalie rotation...
  23. Bruins playing the Marchand tribute video and made the Rat cry. Touching, actually.
  24. Think Power showed the game he is capable of against Ottawa. Fast, aggressive, physical. Had not seen that from him before. Would give him a season or two to get stronger and smarter to develop that game. It’s in there if he decides to be that player. If Power turns out to be nothing more than a weak D offensive D man who will score 20+ goals, would let a new GM trade him while he still has draft pedigree promise for a skater of equal goal scoring value with proven compete, will to win, and Cup experience.
