Sadly, this behavior is not surprising as more and more people in modern times harvest our children for sexual exploitation and are becoming more publicly outspoken in defense of such practices. From power elites to common citizens it appears to be spreading all over. While I know the victim will never be he same I hope they can recover enough to live a healthy, happy life. Just sad.

While I stand by my early season approach to not get sucked in by the most recent success until they are still sitting in a playoff position come Jan, the next 2 games I think are a good litmus test for whether this team may actually be different. Can special teams(penalty and PP) continue their current successful %'s of play? Can/will the team defense improvement continue and/or improve more with Kesselring inserted into the top 3 pairings? Is more goaltending improvement possible with the 3 headed goalie situation that will play out over the next several weeks? Will the coaching approaches and or decisions that play out in all the above questions support or hinder what we have seen in the last 5 games? They have my attention but not yet my trust. Lets go Sabres' be a team I can enjoy again.

I'm not expecting too much from him tonight. As a third pairing player in this game his workload is going to be somewhat limited. What most of us expect/hope is that he will soon be paired with Power and put him in a better position to flourish. TBD.
-
And hopefully Kesselring starts contributing tonight

I’m happy that Buffalo made the trade for Doan and Kesserling. But I’m also sure that as Utah sits on top of their division with an 8-2 record that they are happy acquiring JJP. This was a fair and good trade for the dealing teams.

I'd give Luukkonen a two-week conditioning assignment of 3 AHL starts to ensure he was back to health and recovered properly after each game and saw a variety of shots and net-front traffic, with... oh. Now that the monster exists, I guess Ruff just rides the Llyon (a Fflam never falters!) into the ground and then pick your poison on the two guys who've been sitting around barely used for weeks. If you try to go with a 3-man rotation, even with the condensed schedule, none of them are going to get into a groove. But what they should do: Dress 'em all! Treat them like pitchers. Lyon starts every game. Luukkonen gets the 2nd for the long change. Ellis gets all penalty shots. Luukkonen is on the bench during PP/PK where you need stickhandling/passing and then the reactions to handle shorthanded breakaways/rush chances. Switch them on the fly like a regular line change. Revolutionize the game.

Tyson Kozak out week to week with a lower body injury

I don't know what his basic analytics were in that Detroit game, but I was so impressed that Ruff kept sending him out there against Larkin. He's a really nice role player. And I love how he scored that goal against Detroit -- charging toward the net. -
To be fair, of the forwards drafted #9 (Savoie) or later in the first round, only Nazar (13) and Kulich (28) have made any difference as of yet. And after the 1st round, only Poitras and Hutson have done anything in that class. Savoie will get that shield down, we gotta give him more time.

Yes we did.

His name is Lyon
