  1. Past hour
  2. McLeod signed fairly quickly. Is there any reason to be concerned that Levi hasn't signed yet? Or are they working on something longer term for him?
  3. I think it’s mostly a factor of bad team building Have 3 times as many D man top 10 picks and D account for half the roster sports forwards do
  4. You mean besides @Sabres Fan in NS?
  5. Losing JBD isn’t even worth he convo in my opinion. The guy wasn’t an impact player, at least not what this team needs. So if he walks, he walks, big deal. he needs an impact forward in here, how he’s going to do it is beyond me as most impact players have put handcuffs on movement via NTC’s/NMC’s. We shall see what he does, if anything. Right now, I don’t see this team in the playoffs next season.
  6. Bernard-Docker wouldn't get an arbitration award that's big enough for the Sabres to walk away from. But he very likely would've gotten more than he settled for in the offer from Detroit. So, yeah, @Porous Five Hole was right on that, the Sabres would've been paying the guy they expect to be their 8 significantly more than they'd want to. BUT if neither of the new guys gel with Power, the contract they'd end up with for JBD would've been very good for the player that is effectively their #4/5. Because we know, at least from a small sample size that JBD can be an effective partner for Power.
  7. That might be the worst Sabres forward group in my lifetime. 2 legitimate top 6 players + Tim Connolly 2025 edition.
  8. St Louis is a dump. But you don’t hear their GM have issues attracting free agents.
  9. Damn, Suter would’ve been a nice pickup for Sabres. Good move by Blues.
  10. I wouldn't either. And I don't think he's going to be the #1 defenseman on too many other teams.
  11. Correct. The Sabres pretty religiously avoid arbitration since the Pegulas bought the team. And, not only is there the strong likelihood they'd be locked into an arbitration agreement they don't like with a guy like Bernard-Docker; they might not have certainty on the roster for about 1 more month which can mess with planning.
  12. Given the depth of high end offensive skill on our blue line, its kind of ridiculous that we haven’t leveraged that on our powerplay. FFS every high end passer on this team is on defense.
  13. Suter announcement imminent and it’s not Canucks.
  14. Injury to Dahlin or Power is his only chance I guess….that said, I wouldn’t mind seeing the team try an old fashioned 3F 2D PP unit.
  15. You may have a good point here; I don't remember how this works.
  16. Understood that he wants PP1 time, but that virtually means that he has to be the top offensive defenseman on a team, since most teams use a 4F 1D PP1. Where's he going to be that?
  17. He's the only good ufa left, not sure he needs to use anyone for leverage.
  18. KA is kind of silly
  19. Verge? To quote Clark Griswold, look around Hellen! We're at the 9th circle of hell.
  20. They would have been required to pay him and could not walk away. That’s why he wasn’t given a QO. “The decision of the arbitrator is binding, although teams can walk away from an award in excess of $3.5 million if the salary arbitration hearing was player-elected (note: that $3.5 million figure is adjusted annually by the same percentage as the increase in average league salary, so the walk away limit is probably several $100,000 higher than $3.5 million this time around).”
  21. A snowball's chance in hell has better odds than me choosing that.
  22. It’s kind of a function of how long we’ve been bad and the fact fact we’ve hit the reset button three times now. This is effectively the last gasp of SabresRebuild 3.0. Sam and Jack were traded in the aftermath of 2.0, Nylander busted, Savoie, Cozens and Mittelstadt were sacrificed in a bid to keep 3.0 alive. Unless some kind of miracle happens, we’ll be adding another one next year for the new guy to launch Version 4.0
  23. A lot of ums and uhs in there. Yet nothing really added to what's already been reported.
  24. If I am Byram, I don’t even consider an offer sheet. He wants to be a top pair blueliner with PP1 time. Go to KA and tap out. If he won’t trade him, sign for minimum term to UFA, and then GTFO of sabrehood(WTF is this anyways). The organ-eye-zation deserves nothing more from their players.
