  1. Past hour
  2. It's time to put on our gear. It's time to light the light. It's time to get things started on the Sabres show tonight! To introduce our goal scorer, that's what I'm here to do, it really makes me happy to introduce to you ... Mr. Tage Thompson!!!!! Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! It's the most sensational, inspirational, Sabresnational, this is what we call the Sabres Shhhhhhhooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww. (Then have Ray and Biron make a little snide remark to each other like Statler and Waldorf always did.)
  3. Game thoughts: McLeod, Zucker, Helenius were effective at mostly getting pucks up ice and keeping their zone clear. Helenius needs more time but he dominated the shift he got an assist on. Samuelsson looked slow. He had some nice moments but he also got caught and turned pucks over. I think his skating is very average and lacks agility. Personally, Novikov is ever so close to him but not yet... not yet. Dahlin is very good. Bryson shouldn't have a roster spot. Luca Del Bel Belluz mauled him a few teams by being bigger and faster... but hey! We have Leinonen so ... yea. Anyways, Bryson has no spot. Johnson was better than Bryson and I thought showed solid if not exciting play. No goalie notes, they weren't under much pressure. Norris looked okay but Thompson was the driver and star of that line. Benson looked faster and as usual, won battles, made passes, forechecking machine. You can tell teams are shaking off rust and the defense Buffalo iced was bad. Felt the forwards were held back by them, without Dahlin on the ice breakouts and entries seemed hard.
  4. Helenuis has looked good. I’d say one more year in Rochester than he is up with the Sabres. Him and Mrtka have acquitted themselves nicely this camp. I’d send Mrtka to Seattle and let him dominate the WHL this season. Dont rush these guys.
  5. Today
  6. How often would the Sabres need a closer ? That would constitute finishing chances and scoring goals. They can't hit a soccer net many nights. To be determined.
  7. Like baseball you got a starter, relief, and closer.
  8. A few teams use the Ric Flair wooo after a goal is announced. The Kermit yea instead? That would be brilliant.
  9. I've made my position on Adams and his roster very clear, but if this is going to turn around this season, my answer would be one of our 4 headed hydra in net. If one steps up and seizes the starting job and gives us above average goaltending, then anything is possible. If I had to choose one of the goalies to step-up it would be Levi followed by Georgiev. My second choice would be Power. He has the talent to be a top 20-25 D in the NHL. If he decides to be more aggressive offensively and work hard on defense, the Sabres might have two excellent D pairings. This would take some of the pressure off Dahlin to carry the D group lead to better results at both ends of the ice.
  10. MSNBC with a dash of purple hair a nose ring.
  11. Don't forget that if I'm not sufficiently outraged as an anonymous poster on a political sub-forum of a hockey message board than I'm complicit in all things evil. Say that out loud and hear how stupid it sounds. Totally batshit crazy. What's your theory on how someone can become that deranged?
  12. I guess I never thought about how you spelll it. Been saying it for years.
  13. You know who else took kids away from parents? Nazis. You know who else made stupid decisions for their military? Nazis You know who underestimated their adversaries? Nazis Hey this is easy. All you have to do is make a comparison to nazis and start throwing it out there. Do I start saying first they came for this, then that, then the other thing, then you, then Barney the purple dinosaur? Are you scared enough now to do what I want you to do because I falsely believe I know better?
  14. They shoulda found a trade partner for him. Time to move on and give some other guys the keys.
  15. I lost a guy on my team in the middle of deployment because of the vaccine. He refused to get it, quarantined, deployed, half way through got sent home. Needless to say, when your job is to work in small teams or independent, losing even one guy is significant for ops. Oh yeah, it happened while we were in a not so friendly part of the world. So unnecessary 😂
  16. Sportsnet didn't deem this game worthy of coverage. So I only saw the highlight package and couldn't tell much from it. So only one question, was Norris any good? Did he have chemistry with Tage?
  17. They play hockey in a similar way. Zach Benson is 5'10" btw
  18. Don't forget the whacked out approval of people losing their jobs for refusing to be vaxxed, and in the case of some truly deplorable libnuts, the notion that parents should have their kids taken away.
  19. I don’t see whatsboutisms (spelling?) working out. Wasn’t that long ago we were told ISIS was JV. That incompetence resulted in a serious lack of response providing freedom of movement for arguably the most brutal terrorist organization in the last couple decades. Almost forgot, a ton of weapons and equipment getting left for the Taliban.
  20. Bigger than his size. He's basically similar to Benson or Doan
  21. Other: Helenius.
  22. I thought Rosen had a few good moments as well tonight
  23. From what little I've seen I thought, wow, it's so great to have a huge physical forward and then I looked... he's 5-11, 190? Either he's grown a lot or he plays way bigger than his size.
  24. 41 shots against total in 2 games? That’s unexpected.
