To answer the OP question, they traded for him so they obviously plan on getting him healthy and playing him. End of story.
-
If it was just draft picks, I would be open to do so. I agree with those who say a first round pick would be too costly, but for a lower pick I would be receptive to such a deal. The main consideration is whether adding him improves this roster? I would say yes.

According to sportrac, it’s essentially a 3 year, $30.1M deal.

I’ll be interested to see if there is a very large fourth year salary built in that the Bills can walk away from. Common tactic that helps agents crow about the great contract they got for their client. In this case 12M per year x 4. It may actually be 3x10 (satisfies guarantee) plus $18m 4th year that Cook may never see.

A first round pick for Mitts? Uh No! Fir a 3rd or middling prospect I’d think about it. He would give them a play making centre. He wouldn’t be my first choice at all but he would be better than doing nothing. The problem though is Mitts isn’t a burner and they seem to be building around speed. But if you could give up a pick and have both Mitts and Byram in your lineup that initial deal looks good 😁

If he can find better sure, but can also do much worse than him. -
Oh heck yeah its a horrible sell especially when the perception is that you are pinching pennies... people tend to not give you theirs... they dont turn it around this year I see a real attendance issue as well as a player exodus issue... I hate the doom and gloom, but If we thought last year was it... the anger was high and the apathy was starting... this year... I think the apathy ends up being very high and people just wont go....

He wasted no time in carrying out his threat to deploy NG troops and federal agents in DC to act as a municipal police force. Why is it hard to believe his threats to do the same in Baltimore, Portland, and other cities are just bluster? Many of his threats have become reality since January and given that, we all need go assume he means what he says, regardless of his unparalleled penchant for uttering pure crap out of his pie hole on a daily basis. Again, I urge everyone to read the Project 2025 paper. It is a fascist authoritarian manifesto. -
Doesn't kick in until next year. Thus, no current cap issue. He plays out the last year of his current deal. They did the same with OT Brown.

There is a good reason Mittelstadt isn't here and no, I wouldn't trade for him, even draft picks.
-
Would you give up a first round pick for him? I would be open to it.

I agree this is just about where I'd have him projected. If we take the last 17 games and his 5 assists that would average out to be approximately a 14% increase in production on his two year average. If we would project a 15-20% increase in production from that small sample, that puts him in the 12-14/25-26, 39-41 point range.

I knew what you meant, and I agree with it. Just having some fun.

That is exactly all I am saying. Any decent forward for draft picks is a plus. Not better than he was, but the roster better than it currently is. Temporary hole fill while Helenius develops. You got a better player who is available for draft picks I'm all for it.
-
I honestly don't know how they get out of it. They've dug a deep hole. As the cap rises they will have more and more trouble keeping the team profitable. Revenues have to rise so higher ticket prices? That'll be a tough sell on a loser. Especially if another round of stars exit like you said.
-
Then the avs ditched him. Cause he doesn’t have it. And coming here he’s just going to revert back to Jeff skinner status give me a grinder who can’t pot it in

Still from 2019 draft, not sure besides Boldy and Caufield if there are players we could have picked better behind Cozens. Time will show how he adapts in Ottawa, but his first minor stint showed the same flaws as in Buffalo. Maybe he needs a summer to adjust. As for Norris, He is a 2C for me , hope he doesn't get injured too much. A 70 game season with 60 points is probably a win for us

The threatening part is what I focus on... he threatens a lot. He doesn't always follow through. Unfortunately I have no clue which way it'll go until it goes that way and the threatening piece of it is what is really sad and scary. As for DOGE, I'm still convinced that nothing more than a dog and pony show to get access to sensitive data on the American public to help facilitate actions at a later date and the whole "fallout" between Musk and Trump is merely a ruse to make people think otherwise. It's all 100% sketchy performed under the auspices of addressing the hard issues while not actually addressing anything. -
He's out there every night swinging the biggest **** on the team. Size matters and he has it where it counts.

Can he get SOG added to the scoreboard overlay? Then he wins.
