  1. Past hour
  2. Google Butter dish sabres commercial... Kinda funny.. I've also just been notified by the boss that we must also be there in time for butter dishes šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
  3. Is that what they are really giving away? I thought it was some kind of euphemism that I’m too old to understand?
  4. What a random thing to giveaway
  5. My wife has already reminded me 3 times I have to get there in time for the butter dishes giveaway šŸ˜‚
  6. And there is not one single smidge of reason to beieve the Sabres wouldn't have been another team passing on him because he was small without superior skating had they not had their development people and scouts seeing him every game and many practices and talking to him regularly and getting to know him because they were all there watching, monitoring, and helping Savoie's progress. Yes, he would've been "on their radar" in that they'd know who he was and what his stats were; he would not have been "on their radar" in that they'd almost definitely have at least 4 other guys they'd rather pick with that selection who were still on the board had they not known him better than every other NHL team (with the possible exception of Winnipeg, who didn't pick before them) knew him.
  7. Today
  8. the goalie who needs to be concerned is Levi. Ellis is playing himself into being on the Sabres long term. I have a feeling if any goalie gets traded, it’s Levi.
  9. Pretty sure it'll depend on whether people want butter dishes or not.
  10. Hey folks--what time do you think you're departing Union Pub for the arena? I think the earliest I can get there, and this assumes completely ideal parking and traffic, would be around 1215.
  11. Can't. They're only selling them on Fridays and Saturdays.
  12. They are doing no such thing with UPL. In Terry & Kevyn’s weird brains, UPL ā€œmakes a lot of moneyā€ so he’s going to be their starter results be damned. First and foremost, this organization’s priority is save $$$$ wherever possible.
  13. He’s playing great but I’ve seen two of his goals bounce off defenseman. It’s a pretty small sample size. I’m going to be curious what this will look like 30 games from now.
  14. This is the stat that's going to sink us. Lyon was playing at around league average... I'm not sure why he's been back burnered. UPL is guaranteed to give you bottom of the league level goaltending. Ellis is still an unknown. If it were me, I'd ride Lyon, mix in Ellis, and waive UPL and tell him to earn his way back. Levi could use a kick in the butt too as he's plateaued or even regressed in his development.
  15. Guess we owe Samuelsson an apology. I do at least.
  16. His second goal was fantastic! Able to hold the D man off and flick the puck up high over the GT.
  17. I don't understand why they didn't leave Leinonen where he was in Finland.
  18. If I was Lindy, in their next practice, I’d put him on the top line as a forward with Tage n Tuch just to get the boys juiced up. 🤣
  19. I’m assuming you mean the NY Jets and there are several differences, the three most striking being, 1) the Jets never look as good as the Sabres have looked in several games this year. 2) it’s easier to turn things around in an eighty-two game season than a seventeen game one. 3) the Jets don’t need to just get to to .550 to make the playoffs, they need to get to about .625.
  20. Yeah but what does Rob call him?
  21. The FTC should investigate the NFL's scheduling.
  22. Ratzlaff is clearly more polished and is the more appropriate goalie to have in the AHL right now. Playing Leinonen once a week is doing him or the Amerks no favors. This is simply poor management by a GM who should've been fired a while ago.
  23. Sabres have 61 games remaining with 20 points. Assuming 95 points gets you in, they have to play at a .615 pace the rest of the way. Or put it another way, they have to win 38 out of 61 games. 2 OT losses count as a win.
  24. If the Jets were 1-3 and their fans were saying this, your reaction would be?
  25. You play half of your games on the road. As it stands, the Sabres are the worst road team in the league with a 1-5-2 record. (Recognize that this is a small sample size.) I don't want to be overly negative because it is fatiguing be so. But the reality is that when you don't win games that you should, like Calgary and St. Louis, that it is a damaging blow for a team that has a small margin of error. I would love to be wrong and see the Sabres go on a 10-game win and non-losing streak. But the odds are heavily stacked against it happening. The Sabres don't need to worry about the big picture. Their attention should be on the game-to-game results. Tomorrow, a good Carolina team comes in. The home team needs to come away with a win. That's where their and our attention should be on.
