This is what gets me shaking my head about the Byram conversation. Never mind what “kind” of defenceman he is, he was the team’s 2nd-best defenceman and +11 at 23 minutes night. They’re going to get 3 better defenceman than that this summer? I don’t think they’ve had three better defencemen than that in the last decade.

My knee jerk response for reason is that Lindy's big complaint is that this roster (see, org) is soft, does not how to win, and lacked leadership. So Shevyn went out and got a guy that won a bunch, wore the C/A often, and at the peak of his career was a tough a resilient player. But instead of getting somebody on the roster, he just got his buddy who will likely just show up to practice every once in a while and tell the guys that they are a bunch of p-words. Then we will get a presser about how we brought more toughness into the building so stop being critical of the roster he built. (A roster he continuously says is his fault is not good enough, but then always follows it up with being good enough)

Does this mean Appert will still be an asst coach AND these new responsibilities, or is he being reassigned to this new role? If the former, what a joke. Sources also indicated that assistant coach Seth Appert – formerly head coach of the AHL’s Rochester Americans and in the U.S. National Development Program – has also taken an increased, if not unofficial, role with a voice in hockey operations decisions and scouting.

Hire the right people, Pegula lucked out with McDermott/Beane of the Bills and needs to find the same luck with the Sabres. Maybe poach up and comers from top notch organizations like the Golden Knights/Wild/Panthers etc., doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity is it not?

Honestly, if he was a long term double agent for the Canes it would make more sense than anything anyone has told me to date. He’s not a great double agent as he’s done a couple good things but by and large all of his moves have been garbage.

Appert is from Seravelli’s report Karmanos is referred in the article as well but came from Lance I believe. I have seen nothing about Ventura however thankfully

Where are the comments in bold coming from? I have not seen anything about Karmanos and Ventura leaving? Similarly, I haven't seen anything about Appert getting more say in player personnel.

Well they are unlikely to stay here in that case and that isn’t a future I hope or intend to live through
