many people here said trading Cozens was addition by subtraction. Well we subtracted a semi-highly touted young prospect & we subtracted $8m from the already lower salary cap our team works with. I've always failed to see where the addition part came from with this trade. Maybe adding more mistakes to the construction of your team isn't such a net positive afterall? The truth is a team like ours is going to have a real hard time absorbing this. We only have so many assets to work with & we got rid of one for a bag of bricks that costs $8m per. There are no quick fixes & there may not even be one at all. At this point, i think we really need to think hard about trading Tuch, as opposed to extending him long term. And hopefully Norris can come back to play some sheltered minutes that allow us to trade him for something. That trade would be addition by subtraction imho. Because Norris is a dead weight to this team, an $8m per year dead weight. KA makes these moves as if he doesnt have a care in the world. Any GM fearful about his job, wouldn't have made this trade in the 1st place. I at least am curious to see how the team responds in Boston. They could either bounce back & play a better game, or they could get beat down & bounced in embarrassing fashion. We'll have a better idea of the makeup of this team when its done i imagine.

Ya, he does, fully agree, but he won't. Ruff will be fired (possibly kept in an advisory role) by Christmas. Appert will be named interim head coach. Sabres will play loose and open and do a little better and interim tag will be removed in the off season just like it was with Granato. Adams will be fired or possibly elevated into a different role and Jarmo will be given the GM job. Everyone will remain where they are, chairs are shuffled, no extra pay outs and the impression of a new era. Terry will still sit in on meetings and meddle and maybe even more as he decides to "fully commit to the Sabres" or some other spin. That's my prediction. Not what I'd do, but that's my prediction in what Terry will do.

The statements and reporting on this injury already make me wonder. It's "upper body". It's "not related to his previous injury" . It might be. It's the other shoulder. It's soon going to be lower body because Adams is used to having his head up his a$$.

Bruins scouting report for you (as objective as I can be): Lindholm is injured so Harris is in on D. Likely Zadorov Jokiharju and Harris Peeke as opposed to what that projection said. Everyone else is healthy. Top line is as good as anybody when they are on. Second line is iffy to say the least. Can skate, but they are really a bunch of spare parts and many believe if the season goes badly that whole line gets traded at the deadline. 3rd and 4th lines are both physical 4th lines. There is no real 3rd line. Two 4th lines. So you can try to beat them with speed but they will be greasy and to quote Sturm from a recent practice: "If you go to the net, go to the f'n net". They do. Bryson/Johnson better be ready. Goaltending looks to be in top notch form. B's are slow but play heavy and grind grind grind. They will clog the neutral zone and cut off lanes. Sabres better be ready for board battles. PK is solid, PP not sure but has more motion than last year and might be better than it was. Sabres can win if they really use their speed but B's will not make it easy or let them play free in open ice. With the Sabre injuries I'd say it's a tough task assuming that we see the same type of styles and efforts as we've seen so far.

They don't rely on their top players having "career " seasons year after year. Plus they have a legit top line with playmaking skills than can cover up for missing lower talent. More depth helps too.

Not thrilled with the idea of Kekalainen either (pretty sure a ton of his success was on Zito); but there is no way he's as bad as Adams. Make him the interim GM and if somebody actually good comes available in the offseason upgrade yet again. If not, at least there is an upgrade over what's currently going on. And personally would be very pleased with them giving Karmanos a shot at running the show. But as others have said, just don't see that happening for whatever reason.

Amen brother!! Thompson can play center on my playoff team any day....on the second line. I've said for several years now, the Buffalo Sabres DO NOT have a legit first line. They are great line 2 and 3 line team with LOTS of depth, but don't have ANY consistent line 1 play. Check all other Eastern conferences playoff teams....look at their top lines.
