I think he can be a functional 2C, if you had a 1st line that was going. The problem is, he hasn't really looked good with Tage any time they've been put together. I believe he played some 1C at points last year when we had some injuries and it didn't go well. But later in the year when Benson Kulich Thompson was working, McLeod was producing very well in the 2C spot. We all knew that probably was not sustainable but some of this is on the coach. Doan McLeod Tuch was a good line and Lindy obliterated it when we could have tried Tage at C and not break up their best line this year. -

I have been very disappointed with McLeod this season. Over the offseason I was one of the posters banging the drum to get him signed medium-to-long term and loved his game last year. This year, not so good... With that said, he functions best with 3rd line even strength minutes/ice time (13-14 minutes even strength), and then being your #1 PK guy (another 2-3 minutes per game) so he totals about 15-17 minutes per game. He's getting about 18 minutes now. Not too much over what you want him to, but still over. The bigger issue though is what he is asked/expected to do in that time. -

Simply amazing that Terry has ruined my love of the Sabres. Cheap bastard billionaire. I hate him 😡 -
I think he’s implying the job isn’t getting done, go get the guy that can get it done.

Given (injured when they acquired him) Norris was 1C and 21 year-old Kulich was 2C with 63 career games played... and the other options going into the season were Krebs and Danforth (with Kozak as 13F because Geertsen had to play).... Yeah, it was actually pretty likely in the event Kulich hit any sort of sophomore slump. -
Kesselring comments. That didn’t take long.

I’m not really surprised Kesselring is struggling some in his new role. His partner most of last season was defense first seasoned vet Ian Cole. I also wrote that he was a third pairing guy worthy of 17 minutes a night and that the best part of his game was offense as evidenced by his 29 pts last year. I think he is good player and a solid D in general but we were trying to get a partner for Power who needs an Ian Cole not a Kesselring. -
He keeps losing his first faceoff taken of the third period... like, one time, his stick was outside his skates... something's fishy.

I don't want Ted Lasso as coach but would consider a Coach Beard and Roy Kent combo.

We've also seen the way Utah plays. Their forwards are everywhere and with pace (and did the same last year). They make things a lot easier on their defensemen than the Sabres forward do. Kesselring looked good jumping up the lineup all last season in part because he was on a solid team and played a bunch with veterans like Cole, Maata, and Sergachev. Most nights (and especially when Benson/Dahlin/Zucker are out, and TNT isn't feeling it) the Sabres don't make anything easy for their teammates. Kesselring looked top-4 capable with Utah and if you put him with a fully operational Dahlin he probably looks great. But with Power, or Byram, or Bryson --- he's going to be exposed at times. -

Looking for double digits from Colorado tonight. -
If they lose tonight, I think that is the inflection point. Whether they move slow or fast from there, hard to say with how disinterested Terry seems in the day to day.

I don't think this team is good enough to actually earn a win but they'll stumble into a few W's here or there by sheer luck. I can also see Mackinnon setting NHL records for goals and points earned in a single game / period. -
I don't think Matthew Barnaby is qualified to be the Sabres GM, either.

But I do get to see McKinnon and Makar live. They are a treat. -
So far Timmins has played pretty well. Totally happy to have him get 3rd pair minutes, yet he looks like a guy who can move up to the 2nd pair/2nd pair minutes for a period of time and not hurt you too much. Also has the ability to fill in, in a pinch, if needed on the PP or PK. Happy with him so far. Coming from low expectations, but there are only 4-6 guys on this team I'm happy with so far.

The Quinn line is gonna kill us... Who woulda thought that McLeod would be our No 1 center LOL Who woulda thought that McLeod would be our No 1 center LOL -
Personally would turn the reins over to Kekalainen and let him determine the disposition of the FO/scouts. Hopefully he'd lean towards more culling than keeping and fairly or not, want Forton gone but the rest would leave up to Jarmo. The coaching staff - punt them all but let Ruff take on some "advisory" role if you want to spare having fired him a 2nd time. And if somebody that seems to be clearly better than Jarmo gets cut free in the interim, grab him and thank Jarmo for his service.

Anybody think Barnaby knows something or?
