  1. Past hour
  2. Yes I think it's entirely possible. Again, there are threads about all the games the Sabres have lost due to injury and yet they're still within reach. They're getting healthier and their records shows it. Even more in our favor is the Sabres haven't played the last two nights and they lost.... one point in the standings. The teams ahead of them are not tearing it up. There precisely 2 teams in the Eastern Conference on winning streaks (i.e., more than one win in a row): Tampa with a 4 game streak, and your Buffalo Sabres with a modest 2 game streak. Sure, the Sabres have struggled this year. But so has just about EVERY team in the East. A quarter of the way through the season, there's only a 9 point difference between first and last in the Eastern Conference. Compare that to the Western Conference where there's a 21 point gap between first and last. The Wildcard, Division, and Conference are all up in the air right now. Whatever team can string a few wins together will be in the driver's seat. So far, none of the teams in the East have done that really. The first two weeks of December will tell us if the Sabres have a chance: 6 out of 7 games on the road. If they can win on the road in December, they'll make the playoffs.
  3. Today
  4. But to do that they have to win and improve from their current win percentage. The season is already 1/4 over and do you have faith that they will be substantially better than they have been? Because they will have to be.
  5. I am going to finally sign up for ESPN+ again to catch the game Norris is back. I want to see him play at least once in a Sabres jersey. Waiting until next week is too risky.
  6. Just don't get sucked into the Pettersson (the Center; how weird is it that they have two Elias Petterssons on their roster?) fallacy. Immensely skilled player but production and attitude have been an issue throughout his career. He has the skill to be a 100 point guy but he looks absolutely awful way too frequently and for too long for a guy with his talent. He's the kind of guy that would come here, probably start off hot then disappear if they're losing. No thank you. Quinn is a pipe dream. I don't know what kind of clauses he has in his contract, but if he has any say he'd never come here. Plus I suspect there are teams out there with more ammo than us to acquire him. Boeser might be an interesting name to bolster the top-6...again, unsure of any clauses in his contract. Sherwood/Garland could be interesting middle six pieces. Demko is a terrific goalie, but dude is hurt A LOT.
  7. Norris has missed 21 of 22 games, a quarter of the regular season schedule.
  8. Someone check on Edmonton, they need a wellness check.
  9. Well the Sabres would be in the same boat, wouldn't they? Realistically would trading him to the Sabres mean that he also would demand a trade?
  10. FUCALE!!
  11. He isn’t according to the article. They are looking to get younger. Their biggest issue is how to keep Quinn in town if he wants to go East and play with his brothers.
  12. Yeah, you’ll keep pushing some random Moosehead player on everyone the whole time.
  13. Do you keep reading this as one Canadian guy that wants to trade vets?
  14. Blowing my mind right now
  15. I'm in the Vancouver market and you're wrong. They risk having him demand a trade if the season keeps sliding away for them. He said as much in the offseason, and Canucks fans see the writing on the wall. If a team can afford the price, he's available.
  16. I'm talking about the next few games, not the entire season.
  17. Quibbling can sometimes be fatiguing when not in the mood to duel. 🙂
  18. Can you PLEASE get rid of that apostrophe? It's killing me.
  19. Yes it is! This is Sabrespace! 😉
  20. We disagree on each other’s characterization of him and his role. That’s okay. Not worth quibbling over.
  21. I stand corrected. My main point is that Norris was brought in to be a top two line center. And also related to that point is that if he plays up to that level, his salary would not be considered out of bounds.
  22. Yes, and to be fair I don't see Lindy taking Tage out of the center position as long as that line is producing.
