  1. Past hour
  2. I can't imagine having such strong feelings about Alex Tuch.
  3. No Novikov? Bryson? Please get rid of these coaches and GM already, just brutal.
  4. From reading Muppy’s posts on TSW I that Muppy was female.
  5. He actually showed some attitude against Ottawa, now he needs to keep it up. Your bar is too low. He was a first overall draft pick. Just once in a while can we see a dominant performance from him?
  6. even without two (or more?) of their star players, the Panthers will almost certainly sh1t pump the Sabres with their trademark relentless and heavy style of play.
  7. I’m assuming that’s something that gets kissed in translation from French.
  8. I would not say that Montreal is a gritty team. They are what we strived to be. very fast, very skilled and deep with scoring talent. They are also very young. Only one player on the top 3 lines is over 25 years old. The D is as also young with 4 out of the 6 25 or under. In theory they are weaker on the blueline than we are. Watching them torment the Preds playing 3 on 3 it was only luck and Saros that did not end that game sooner. Preds could have won that game in regulation but Marchessault made a bad play shooting the puck into Hutson's chest trying for the empty net. Of our 2 next games I think we have a better chance against Florida than we do against the Habs.
  9. Was Giroux still chirping at the end of the game when he looked up at the score board? I thought Power played well in this game. It wasn't a dominant performance but simply did his job. I'll take that level of play.
  10. I'm not quite that old but I crossed paths with Dan several times during his post-football days (when he was a lawyer in private practice). RIP.
  11. Christ. Losing Tuch for a discounted, in-season trade return would be such a stomach punch. Strike that, actually. It would be a forceful steel-toe boot kick in the ribs. A stomach punch would suggest that, as a hockey fan, I'm still standing. I'm not. I'm more laying on the ground in a vaguely fetal position. I would not blame the guy one bit for not re-signing here.
  12. Do you know what isn't funny? Screwing up a franchise to the point that he has made it an irrelevant and laughingstock franchise. And there is nothing funny about how he has crushed a once vibrant hockey market into an apathetic market where many games are played in front of empty seats. As far as I'm concerned, this fool owner can get on his tax write off big boat and sale away. This owner is a joke! Is that funny enough for you.
  13. I think I saw somewhere that Giroux was chirping at Power something along the lines of “you’re a wet dog in a tall body” or something like that. Even our big guys get chirped.
  14. I'm hoping its a sign that muel is back. Not that he's not the softest monster on the roster though 🙂
  15. The problem being Both of them may be in the lineup. The Sabres already get laughed at by their peers on the ice to their face. What level of hilarity will the opponents engage in when the Oompa Loompa squad is out there trying to keep 6'5" 240 lbs monsters out of the crease. They will get eaten for dinner.
  16. Borgen was the dumb one. Skinner waived his NMC in the expansion draft and gave you the option to keep him basically, and they kept "trade value" in bjork, asplund, and olofsson. I think Foligno was a dumb trade to move a buffalo player, but i get that they were trying to get scandella.
  17. Today
  18. Add in an incredibly dated fax machine joke and you have the trifecta.
  19. Maybe they figured there would be more Senators fans at the game in Buffalo than in Ottawa cuz the tickets are so cheap and they would sell more jerseys because of it.
  20. He's getting his first and potentially only shot at age 26. I have 0 expectations, but i'd imagine he's going to bring his all. I'm personally sick of bryson - like 250 games over 5 years, i'm good please find someone else to be the extra defenseman. Agreed. I like RyJo but it doesn't seem like he's ever going to get a chance here so i'm not sure we need to give him a nickname.
  21. I don't think you're allowed to use the initials RJ to describe anybody on the team, that abbreviation has been retired and is hanging in the rafters.
  22. Hey... he isn't bryson? Lets give the guy a chance.
  23. Yeah, it’s like low hanging fruit. It was a bad analogy when it was presented. No matter what size the business, no business owner wants to use their personal wealth to subsidize the business. It’s just not sustainable. Ultimately, however, like you said, it’s their money to do with what they want.
  24. Selective memory re: Reimer last year. Lindsey did play him and he lost more then he won before he got hot towards the end of the season. So it wasn't as obvious as you make it out to be. Also remember that folks here thought Lyon was going to be a dud when Adams signed him because stats. 🙄 Reimer is 5 years older than Lyon and is still a free agent.
  25. The rage that sets in when I see the Doan Foligno comparison. For sake, we had Foligno and Borgen, and Hagel (sort of) and the Sabres just pissed those players away for no good reason other than sheer incompetence.
  26. The boat nonsense is right up there with the palm tree schtick. Not funny or interesting. He's a billionaire, he can do whatever he wants with his money.
  27. Metsa is in such lofty company as Brett Murray and Lucas Rousek... Maybe he'll be something. I'd have 0.0% issue if they didn't already have another mighty mite playing defense in the NHL. Did you watch Bryson get pitchforked into his own net on a routine net crash by Ottawa last game? Unless Zach Metsa is the second coming of Torey Krug I don't see the intrigue. The Sabres need defenseman with snarl, not platform shoes.
