  1. Past hour
  2. If he is “promoted”, he will still be in Terry’s ear. Just kick him to the curb…gone forever.
  3. I feel like too much flux is probably not necessarily a good thing. There's a lot of pieces, signed for long periods of time, that have not gelled or succeeded for any number of reasons. If I'm firing the GM, the coach, the scouts and cleaning house, do i really trade the players who signed on to be here? To me it comes down to spending - if you can get to tell the new GM/coach combo that we are absolutely going for it - do you automatically dump players? I'd probably wait until free agency before I'd move anyone of value. We usually miss in free agency, but who knows? There's still a bunch of prospects to move that you can use for any draft day trades, and then see what you can potentially get with free agency before making any drastic moves. Tuch is still up in the air. You have 3 decently sized expiring contracts with byram, greenway, and zucker. Could also buy out norris and Samuelsson if you need space. The real barrier to anything is cash, will the team actually spend?
  4. Well ya, I guess, but if you're not going to play him it doesn't matter. As he's a young guy with a ceiling to come you'd think they would want to see what he has. If he's good you might look at ditching UPL. If you don't give him a look you just lose him when you waive him.
  5. High compete. Plays hard every shift. Krebs, Benson, Zucker. Looks like Doan is high compete. We could use a few more guys like this group, imo.
  6. Would it matter if we did anything?
  7. So, if Adams is Pegula’s long term choice, we do nothing from here on out? This is it? Run what ya got?
  8. I very specifically said I was not a proponent of a teardown. Any small number of players can be moved without calling it a teardown, although moving your best player starts to move the needle. Nonetheless, as unlikely it is to have a trade for Dahlin that improves the team, if it gets offered to me, Dahlin is as good as gone in my eyes. Obviously, moving on from Dahlin is a lot lower on the priority list than moving on from 22 other players on the team, but it is a non 0 number.
  9. I think this has become commonly received wisdom after it became clear that Krebs would not pan out as a top-6 NHL forward. For my part, I don't see it. Or, at least, I don't see much (enough) of it.
  10. Today
  11. Krebs is a get-under-the-skin agitator. It's less tangible than scoring or physical hits, but he gets opponents off their game.
  12. Yes…IMHO it’s important that he is actually FIRED….not promoted. I want his physical presence and influence completely purged or else nothing substantive will change for the better.
  13. Yup. Can't do anything until Adams is fired and an adult hired.
  14. Generally I agree. We desperately need goaltending and a top 6 playmaking center to turn this team around now, not 3-5 years from now. Adams has done the hockey trade - Byram for Mitts, Norris for Cozens. He has also done the top tier NHLer for a package of assets such as Eichel and JJP. He has done the NHLer for futures deals - such as dumping Montour, Reinhart and Risto, and made the futures for NHLer deals like the McLeod, Malenstyn and Greenway trades. All these moves haven’t brought the Sabres closer to the playoffs, because there is no plan at the managerial level. These trades illustrate a team spinning it’s wheels. Adams can’t be allowed to try to fix the mess he created. Before anymore mores can be done, Adams needs to be fired.
  15. I don’t agree the WR failures are on the OC. What I’m seeing are defenses bracketing Shakir and playing man on both Keon & Palmer…the ideal offensive matchup. They can’t get open. Brady is not McVay/Shanahan elite, so maybe someone like that could get more out of the WR room? But bottom line for me is this is a talent issue.
  16. Bro - what? I don't gamble (outside of stuff like fantasy football and March Madness brackets) so I must ask: What in fresh hell is this?! It's gambling ... but it's not? These entities are getting access to the league's proprietary data?! I'm probably just naive and uninformed here, but this seems shady as hell.
  17. As of now: Benson and Doan are key contributors. I'm not trading either. Dahlin, our captain and 1D. I'm not moving him period. Thompson, he's a 40 goal scorer with a 7mil contract, he's a key component as a winger or center; I can't exactly picture a good deal involving him If I can find a way to keep Tuch, I will because he's a high level player Norris, well I like him but he's always hurt so I have hard time deciding on him Power, I'm keeping him barring some legit 1C trade. He's a good player, a weak defender but offensively very competent Zucker I'd let finish off his contract; solid vet McLeod, great 3C that in a pinch can fill as a 2C for a short time (in particular a short time) Byram, Kesselring and Muel; when healthy have their uses but not married to any of them Kulich, good enough, open to an upgrade but not interested in just trading him for the sake of it. Timmins, so far so good UPL, let's see how he is when he returns but I have little faith in him barring a return to his 23-24 form Quinn is just short of being a guy I'm good with just ridding ourselves of
  18. On WGR last hour, right after there was discussion of the game being on TNT, Hammy chimes in and calls it a “radio only” game. Hello…just because it is not on MSG does not make it a “radio only” game. How much does this guy get paid? 🤔
  19. My roster isn't cap compliant. Son of Ben - Jackikin Eichwalker - Reino Samidala Jef or Quinn Solo - Tagebacca - Tuch Icewalker Dylando Cozressians - City in McLeods - TBDoan Zemgus - Wedges (Krebs) - Dad Kposobi (Shmeerod) Muel-PO - R2-D6 Unlimited Uncle Owen - Kessel Run BB-4 - Bryson Goalless Levi HC Grand Ruff
  20. This is a very reasonable thought. The team does lack “winning” leadership on the ice and throughput the organization. As to no one is off limits, I understand the sentiment, but it’s hard to completely dismantle a team. No GM is moving on from Dahlin for example and it would take a huge huge offer to get Thompson given his relative bargain contract. Benson would likely be off limits as well. I can see a scenario for pretty much everyone else, even the guys I’d want to keep, depending on the offer.
  21. Two things about trading Power… 1 - If Adams is GM, DON’T DO IT!!! 2 - After Adams is fired, don’t even consider quantity over quality. I don’t want to hear that they got 3 or 4 pieces back for Power. Look at the pieces that came back for Eichel & Reinhart? Make it a 1 for 1 deal for a playmaking top 6 center. The Sabres can add a pick or prospect if need be.
  22. The best way to protect the young goalie is to maintain possession of the puck as much as possible. The Sabres can't have another start where the opponent is in our end for much of the first period, peppering Ellis. They will be down 2-0 in a blink.
