  1. Past hour
  2. Huh? Is your assertion that they'd be better off if Granato was still coach? Otherwise, what is the point of that comment?
  3. Ellis was unable to go tonight with a stiff back. UPL was the next option.
  4. Today
  5. They never blew 3rd period leads because they rarely had leads before then. They were awful in the 1st under Granato (especially hos last year) and bad in the 2nd throughout his tenure. They had to pour it on at the end to get their W's. Way easier to protect a lead for 4 minutes than for 40.
  6. Whatevs. Haven't bothered finding the tablet's keyboard from the suitcases and the little hunt & peck keyboard doesn't just suck it also autocucumbers a LOT.
  7. Something we never had to worry about under Granato that we strangely seem to have happen a lot more under Ruff
  8. Good ole Ta-cha-cha. Have to tell my buddies in Ra-cha-cha about that.
  9. Gotta credit Yamamoto tonight, dominant
  10. Someone here posted when UPL came back up that the Sabres had a plan to give each goalie 1 game of these 3. And guess it makes sense to have UPL as the backup in both Loaf games to get him back to a "normal" NHL situation. And if Ellis really couldn't go tonight, it makes sense to give UPL the game. Better than risking an injury/ exhaustion to Lyon and you weren't likely getting Levi from Cleveland to TO in a handful of hours before the early start. Am glad they got the lower point (that didn't happen in this sort of a situation last year), but they had a real chance to convert a 0-3 start into a 6-4 start which is exactly what they need for playoffs. Doubt they give up on UPL immediately. But he has to be on a short leash, and the team HAS given up on him before on a few occassions. Could see him in Ta-cha-cha legitimately by Thanksgiving, if not sooner should the rest of the squad get healthy and he not get his head out of his bippy. And, yeah, he gave up 3 bad goals, but he easily could've given up 8 if TO didn't shoot every other chance just wide. Play Lyon or Ellis vs C-bus, win in trip 2 to Beantown & give Lyon the Caps game. And if Ellis IS legitimately going to miss time, flip Levi & UPL and hope the Blues return the favor when UPL is on waivers.
  11. Every other Atlantic division club won tonight so this was a pretty bad blown 3rd period lead. and OT loss.
  12. I believe Ellis was sent to Toronto on Friday in order to play today. So we all need to stop with the conspiracy theories maybe he got Blue Jays Fever?
  13. Interestingly, everyone else in the division won their most recent game except Buffalo. Getting a point tonight was huge, but it was RIGHT THERE for them. Survived UPL to steal a point. Time for him to watch for a while since we don’t have a back to back for two weeks.
  14. KA and Ruff will BS the fanbase with how UPL needs a few games post injury. They’ll sacrifice what the rest of the team has built after adversity for trying to “protect” a player. All it does is send a message that mediocrity is ok and can possibly screw up this team’s confidence. If I was Ruff I would tell the press we need more from our goaltending in these types of games. Screw UPL’s confidence because he has pissed away the opportunity given to him here with sub .900 play.
  15. First star for the Leafs: UPL Second star for the Leafs: The Officials.
  16. Welp. Gausman was outstanding right up until the two 7th inning dinners and got chased. I wish I was confident the Jays can do the same to Yamamoto. We shall see.
  17. 2nd goal was horrible too. Should've moved his body towards the post & not just his leg. 3 bad goals in a game they lose in OT. Did they name him the 1st star? They should've, he was their MVP & without him, they'd've lost all 4 points this weekend.
  18. But he's months from potentially being bought out (and unlikely) and he's not being waived. If the agent complains about the conditioning assignment, again -- full NHL salary -- then you tell the agent that their client played 1 period of hockey since last season and you're in 3rd place in the division. If they want to request a trade, so be it. But the agent knows his client has no trade value.
  19. I actually was at bar, looking at my phone in frustration saying, they are playing the wrong ***** goalie. Lucky we got the loser point tbfh
  20. just watched the game UPL is a joke he can never make the important save, 4 goals on 22 shots! 3rd and 4th goal all his fault He better not play for us again What is the point of being tougher to play against and playing Dunne ( and Geertsen sometimes for that matter) and Dunne doesn’t even take a run at or fight McCabe for the rest of the game? Gutless Clearly we are a better team next week when Kesserling is in for Metsa and Greenway is in for Dunne, but man we should have won this game UPL is just not it for me, I know there was kissed plays here and there but it’s all UPL for me. Not ***** good enough
  21. Yes to this and also what power does not do is smash slap shots into defensemen legs. He is good about shot placement. Pucks don't go flying back in the opposite direction. I thought he played pretty well this week.
  22. Helenius with the OT winner on the PP. 4-3 final and Leinonen was great.
  23. I don't care what his shot looks like if it finds a way to go to the net. In the past 3 years, almost 250 players have at least 50 games played at defense, some a lot more. Among all of them, Power is in the to 50 in goals scored.
  24. The agent’s sole purpose is to advocate for his client. And players do not get their full contract if bought out. If the Sabres ended up waiving UPL, not only does his client have to get up and move, if he clears waivers and is playing in the AHL, they now are a prime target for a buyout. Agents don’t like this because it’s less money for them. It was in the agent’s best interest to get his client playing in NHL games and not being supplanted by a rookie.
