We might be better off with a Hudsucker Proxy scenario where Terry hires the mailroom clerk instead.  But I gots a feelin' Jarmo was more a “waiting in the wings” type of a successor.

Maybe Savoie and a 1st for Tuch?   Which wouldn't excite me, but teams that are buyers aren't usually giving up good NHL pieces in rerturn.

We don't want Savoie back at all.   He is behind Kulich, and now you can see that Östlund and Rosen have passed him.  Pretty soon Helenius.  

I want to keep Tuch as part of the next re-tool if possible.  I certainly see the dilemma of a long term, big dollar contract though.

why would anyone entertain this rumor?   I don’t want Adams trading anybody.   Fire Adams and let the new GM handle  the roster.  

They need to give Tuch a deadline to make a decision on whether or not he wants an extension in Buffalo, although I have a feeling he is leaning towards joining another organization. 
 

Losing him for nothing July 1st is not an option.

Savoie doesn't play the type of hockey we should want to play.

Maaaan, not Tuch 

I get that $hit isn't looking very promising at the moment (or, for the last decade+ TBF) but trading away Mr Upstate NY really sends home the message that rebuild 3.0 is reality

Are you trying to jinx the upcoming game against the Oilers? Saying all this --- Savoie is going to score 3-1-4 in his return and every Sabres prospect scorer is going to suffer injuries that night. 😇

To appease the gods, I'll add: Savoie is a fantastic young talent and we wish him the best in his future endeavors (except against Buffalo) and McLeod fills a greater need on the current roster.

Is Jarmo currently actively or at least collaborating on personnel decisions? Was he a Pegula recommended addition or was it a KA add after being instructed by the owner to find an experienced staffer to help him out?  It is not a healthy organizational situation to be in where you have staff waiting in the wings (maybe so?) because you then have people looking over their shoulders worried about their status and influence. Terry Pegula has created a third-rate organization, and the results are proof of that dysfunction.

I am answering another poster.   We don not want/need Savoie at this time.

People are missing my point - I'm not saying I want Savoie, or anyone like him - 

I'm saying that's the kind of player you're most likely getting back in an in-season trade for Tuch.  I don't like it anymore than you - 

Teams are generally trading for a guy like Tuch for their run and not giving away pieces that would be valuable this season.

You can't force him to re-sign

not too mention his age and the contract he will expect

would love to see him back for 4 or 5 more years but have to explore options

I would go in search for some teams doing it the right way who may want to accelerate their rebuild and trade some of their pots of gold (young players) for a proven vet. A team like ANA or SJ may do something like this. Otherwise, I agree, a proven playoff team probably won’t send you someone off their roster of equal value. I know this is spinning the wheels, but I don’t want him walking for nothing, nor do I want him to dictate where he goes.

Yeah, he may be my favorite Sabre right now.    Unless it’s what he really wants, if they trade him for garbage, I’m done with this team.

Huge risk for Sabres as there’s little reason for Tuch to extend before going to free agency.   Would have to be a (perceived)  massive overpay or a complete reorg that he’d feel could make us competitive.  Regardless, if he was my kid I’d strongly advise him to hold off until mid July.
