Östlund loaned to Rochester

Good opportunity for him to know what he needs to work on at the NHL level and hone those skills in the AHL. I'd be lying if I said I've been watching him closely in the games he's been playing, but it seemed like he's not quite ready yet.

True, he may not be ready for the show, but he didn’t embarrass himself while he was here, either. You can see the talent is there. Let him cook in the A. I’d have liked to have seen Helenius replace Kozak for a look-see, but I fully understand why they decided not to.

This was the right call.

Center spine still going to be a major issue against any team with a legitimate 1C for the next.... 3 years? At least? Maybe if Helenius exceeds all expectations and becomes a Barkov?

He has skill, but he's not what we need. If he stays healthy, Greenway should give us more. 

If I could trade Östlund (plus whatever) for another Doan I'd do it in a heartbeat.

True. But around the league Norris is only a 2C.

What's the interest rate they are charging?  Did the Amerks fight for a better rate due to the Fed's lowering interest rates again?

Yes, he has skill and he looks like a smart player but he was not ready to physically engage in the game at this level yet.  He minded his position and was responsible defensively but he really hesitates to possess the puck and that has to be part of his game at some point.  He did manage to get a few shots on net though.  

Greenway is by far more valuable to the team right now.  

Östlund still has a chance to play in the NHL,  but I would not be against packaging him if a good trade opportunity arises.  Östlund is still young, will not be 22 until March, so more Rochester time for him is a good thing.  

I would prefer to see Helenius if there is another opportunity to call up a forward.

Helenius seems to have a little more snarl (or whatever you want to call it) so he is the one guy in Rochester I would prefer to keep for next year but really, if they can make the team better now I'm open to moving anybody in Rochester or picks.
