So here is where I am at... he has decided on Jarmo who clearly was not influential in a positive way this off-season who knows if he had any input...  I think TP will be forced to do something... the player exodus will start with stars Dahlin Thompson etc wanting trades... Adams will get fleeced, Sabres will miss the playoffs, Adams will get promoted to POHO because Terry needs his a$$ sniffing sycophant, Jarmo will get moved to GM. Ruff will get fired and the worst PP coach in the history of the league appert will get made head coach. We will be devoid of any real talent, stuck with massive contracts like Norris, Power, Greenway, Muel etc who probably won't even make a half a season without being hurt agaaaain... literally no free agents will even consider entering New York state let alone come here. And if you thought this dysfunction bush league incompetent abyss was bad... you ain't seen nothing yet

Odd comment and repeatedly proven untrue but I guess forget it you're rolling.

It's what I think will happen this year... not sure why its odd... and i am confused about how its been repeatedly proven untrue... each year is a new year that is an amalgamation of prior years. This is the year I think the levy breaks... you think I am odd or stupid or whatever that's fine but it has not repeatedly proven untrue as this is a new year with this team carrying forward the consistent losing, frustration and dysfunctional culture forward... at what point are stars like Dahlin etc done with it... I think it starts this year.

Because free agents sign in new York state every off season, that's why it's odd

Oh I understand now... yes I was being dramatic about that i should have said Buffalo and qualified it with relevant free agents ... now I get the roll thing too... "Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor!" "Shut up he's on a roll" ... lol well played

I don't know about the off ice stuff, and you make good points to mention it because it is important.  What did he learn from Okposo?  That is most likely his blueprint for what an NHL captain looks like.    Which gets into how few truly effective veterans our kids have played with.  The Sabres  blew the whole captain thing when they picked Eichel over ROR in my opinion.

As for Dahlin, I can only go by his on-ice effort and his willingness to play hard.

It's difficult to develop that 'hate-to-lose' culture when ownership/management keeps moving the guys who truly hate to lose out of the organization.

O'Reilly hated to lose, put that feeling into words, and was traded.

Eichel and Reinhart were sick of losing and didn't want to go through another rebuild.  Adams claimed that they didn't want to be here, traded them and then proceeded with his idiotic and doomed rebuild.

It's difficult to build that hate-to-lose culture  when you label those players who voice dissatisfaction with losing as dissenters to the cause, and then move them out of the organization.

Seems to be a consistent theme in both teams Terry owns.  He wants compliant, don't ever rock the boat people in his organizations.  They consistently trade or cut anyone on either team who might voice any issues within the team.  Terry thinks having his type of people, with his “faith, family, football/hockey” values is the most important thing in an organization.

Just had a conversation with the wife about Tuch. I explained a short history of good players the Sabres trade who then win a cup. She asked, so the Sabres are like a farm team?

A true dream start to the season.

No Tuch deal.

Benson out via a fluke injury.

Norris breakimg himself not even 60 minutes into the season.

Bryson in the opening night lineup.

Geertsen not only in the lineup but instrumental in the team giving up the game winning goal in the opener.

The PP picking up right where it left off last year, and the year before that, and (except for 6 or so magical weeks) the year before that, and ...

At least when you're at the absolute bottom, things can't go lower.  Maybe.

The canary isn't dead, but he isn't the picture of health either.

Geertsen shouldn’t even be in the NHL, he wasn’t even noticeable in the AHL with the Silver Knights. Plus whoever scouted him or wanted him should be fired immediately

The Aud and Key Bank must have been built on an Indian Burial ground. If the winningest coach in Scotty Bowman couldn’t right the ship then what.

If the Bills didn’t hit a home run with Josh, the Bills would be the Sabres 2.0

Might as well just close up all of Western New York if subsurface indian bones are what’s keeping us down.

Both Eichel and Reinhart have much better teams around them and far better coaching staffs and organizations.

Not teams, GMs. GMs who know how to aquire talent, hire coaches, and build a roster to win consistently in the NHL.

Pegula has only hired frauds and clowns to manage the Sabres.

So how much will Cozens be motivated next game. That trade was terrible. Great trade for Ottawa. Fix a broken Sabres player and get rid of a bigger contract who can’t stay healthy.

Cozens isn't good

Yep.  Josh has made a lot of people above and below him super rich and protected in their job status.  But Josh seems ok with it all.  I dont think any of the key people in either organization has winning a championship as their absolute North Star.  I’m sure they want one, but not if it means of keeping people around that don’t conform and comply with the “faith, family and football” mentality.

Better than a guy that can’t stay healthy and is getting paid more.

When that other guy plays, he is better than Cozens.

When that other guy doesn't play, the question becomes is Cozens better than the guy that replaces that other guy?

Its not really 'one' guy replacing Norris, as the minutes are split up.  You could say Kulich moves up the lineup, and at this point I'd take Kulich over Cozens as he makes far less mistakes.  If you go by the theory of the minutes are split, I'd still take 1/3 McLeod (despite him playing awful the first 3 games), 1/3 Kulich, and 1/3 whoever else.  That combo doesn't bring that much less offense than Cozens did the last few years, but they still make a ton less mistakes.

I don't know if we have short memories or not, but Dylan Cozens in some cases single handedly ruined games for the team with blind passes, turnovers, and mostly being totally out of position allowing goals in close games for the Sabres last year that they lost by 1 or 2.

Cozens needed to go, he wasn't going to contribute here. If he turns it around in Ottawa, good for him (by the way, he's not turning it around yet in Ottawa. He's played 30 games there now, 7 goals, 13 assists, and a -10...and 82 game pace of 19 goals, 35 assists and a staggering but famaliar -27 on an Ottawa team that has been better than Buffalo)  In other words, he is still who he has been.

The real question is, should the Sabres have taken 'futures' for Cozens instead of Norris?  A mid-to-late 1st rounder and/or a prospect?
