Gotta give something to get something.

Giving up 20yr old Benson, a guy with elite defensive metrics for a 24yr old with worse defense, who can't stay healthy is a terrible idea.

I long for the day when I don't have to defend Benson. That day is rapidly approaching.

No other front office (besides Columbus) will know him better.  Jarmo will hopefully know if he’s worth the risk or not.

I wonder what he costs. Would be nice to be on the good side of a "guy wants out" trade.

"the Sabres have interest in the player. "

He suddenly rescinded his request and said he's never been happier in Columbus for some reason.

24 years old, 175 games and 34 goals/ 71 points.

He is worth Krebs and maybe a B level prospect.

Krebs  - 24 years old, 296 games, 30 goals/94 points playing on 4th line most of the time.

If this is an attempt to replace Peterka it seems more like another rebuild on the rebuild's rebuild.

Yeah.  Not sure how guys like Quinn and Benson were even mentioned. This guy can’t be worth much.  Worth even less because he can’t stay healthy.

I think the best way to think of Chinakhov is Jack Quinn, not exactly his game, but what he is and what he could be:

A young winger who has flashed tantalizing offensive talent but has yet to break through and also battled injury and raised questions through at times spotty play.

Hed have similar value based on the beholder and be a risky trade for both sides.

"Waddell told Aaron Portzline of The Athletic that he won’t trade Chinakhov unless he gets fair value in return, making it clear he’s not willing to part with the young winger just because he asked out. If a suitable offer doesn’t come before training camp, Waddell still expects Chinakhov to report—but he’ll likely keep exploring trade options in the meantime."

This part must confuse Kevyn.  “Wait, you don’t need to trade someone if they ask for it?”

I read an article a few years back that 40% of professional athletes are not happy with their current team.
