Expect the same for any player looking to get traded. Buffalo will only be able to get free agents by overpaying by a ton. The reputation here is so beyond awful that I really think this team will never recover. Drafting is there only chance from here on out. Couple that with the Mickey Mouse GM. Quote

I don't like Zegras and I do wonder why Anaheim (who many people think are going to push for the playoffs now) decided he wasn't a fit for that so clearly they think he's a lost cause, but that's a low risk price for Philly. If Zegras can get it together now that's a heck of a deal for Philly. Quote

Interested in how they complement that. Edited 11 hours ago by dudacek Quote

Interested in home they complement that. I'm going to guess Briere saw it this way. We need a skilled center. I can get this guy cheap. Maybe Tocchet can get him to play to his potential. If not, he's a placeholder for whoever they draft 6th overall this year and is likely the guy in 2 years. idk if him being Drysdale's best friend matters and it might even be bad but who knows, Zegras still makes me think of this and likely always will: 1 Quote

Mr. Allen Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago This might’ve been asked already, but could this weak return for Zegras lower the market for other player trades? Quote

Doubt it. Zegras had issues. Declining production, injuries, doesn't play defense. I think a lot of teams weren't interested. Philly willing to gamble since they have the assets to trade without affecting anything else. Michkov-Zegras-Konecny as a line could be sick, but probably have a lot of goals scored against them too. Might be entertaining though. Maybe they'll Michigan pass for a double Michigan. Quote

Yep, always best to see how the whole think plays out. Two players the Sabres could use have moved for prices the Sabres could afford: If when the dust settles we’ve improved more than Marchment and Zegras for Krebs, good. Quote
dudacek Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago I think other GMs might have hung on to Zegras a little more tightly. I can’t think of another GM more likely to be annoyed by him than Verbeek. Quote
