So much so they won’t even fully vet the new owner or do any research to determine if that market would support an NHL team. The NHL is a cash poor league. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the owners rely on the the expansion fees to make a profit. Almost like a giant Ponzi scheme. 2

This is also where I have a hard time understand the Sabres valuation of $1B+? Like lets go down that road? NHL: The Buffalo Sabres are worth a BILLION US DOLLARS! Fans: OK, it is worth a $1B, so surely it is a good investment to buy the team and keep it here? NHL: Eh, $1B is a tough number in Buffalo. The city can't support that in NHL sales. Fans: Understood, so if it sells you will have to move it to a more profitable city? NHL: Actually, no because it is even more profitable for us to just start a new team from scratch. Fans: Terry, can you sell the team to somebody local who can end the misery? NHL/Pegula: Absolutely not, because valuation. None of this is real.

Still, I suspect there are many who are choosing not to because of the absurd, political climate the orange megalomaniac despot has created. No political post 2 1

Cozens was held accountable and got his ass shipped out. I’m fine with JJ following the same path. They need to reshape the roster and getting an actual responsible hockey player for Peterka could galvanize this roster. Get Quinn & Samuelsson off the roster too. Mattias is just garbage and Quinn is just not good. Great shooter, decent playmaker, plays like someone trying not to get touched. Fans want accountably? Sure. But I want it at the top. The owner won't spend to the cap or hire better coaches or front office. The GM is not good at his job, he said so himself. That is were the accountability should start. So the players the GM did not block are all not good and should be traded? I don't think so. Cozens is already gone. Quinn is not the same player as before the injuries and looks like a redundant part that can be moved. Muel and his contract are proving to be more bad judgement by the GM. Peterka is a guy I want to keep. Expect him to go somewhere else, fit in, play better two way hockey, and still score a lot of goals. Meanwhile Adams will get a lesser player and his core will continue to erode. This is deja vu all over again. 1

How many of the 32 NHL owners have done media in the past few years? Id say the majority talk in public - as in take questions - when they buy the team, fire or hire somebody to run the franchise, or need money or political favours for an arena or something. Most of them hire somebody to take care of that ***** for them otherwise. Pegula uses Guelli and Adams, his two senior people. Be honest, if you could you would probably avoid speaking to Harrington for five years too. Agree with bold as far as "regular communication" but that is in a normal environment. But there is nothing normal going on in Buffalo regarding the hockey team. In any business when things get this bad you expect to hear directly from the top. He should address the fans at least once or twice a season, I want to hear something - especially given the newest circumstances. The number of WNY fans going to games or even watching them is certainly not increasing. Southern Ontario fans were already just as disinterested but many come over because its NHL hockey at affordable prices. Now given the current political environment the Canadian fans will dwindle to almost nothing. This will have a big affect on revenues at the Sabres gate, and in downtown, and in the local stores/restaurants. Buffalo is looking like a city that will be hurt by Trump rhetoric and policy. The Boston Bruins owner sent out a letter apologizing for their poor season and promised to take immediate actions to turn it around. The Bruins had 8 straight playoff seasons prior to missing this year. They had 29 straight playoff seasons (NHL record) prior to that. How many NHL teams have had 14 year playoff droughts? Terry came here and immediately promised Stanley Cups, he was going to "drill another well" to get it. This team is approaching a critical juncture made worse by the political climate, they could lose a lot of money during the remaining Trump years. For the first time ever I worry about this teams future in Buffalo. 2 1

All these players that get dealt have deep playoff runs and many in fact have won championships. The Sabres is not what a championship team looks like, but a lot of the players they've dealt do look like a championship team. 1

No explanation was ever given. No wonder folks are reticent to cross. The Hells Angels do pick up some drugs at the ports and then run them inland crossing the border in a few places and into the prairies. That's a long standing fact. The amount, however, is miniscule compared to the Mexico border. It most definitely never warranted what is happening.
