Think back to the Vladimir Tsyplakov trade for something like a 7th round pick, when the 1999-2000 Sabres looked a lot like this after Hasek went down. That helped shake up that team that led to a mad run to The Hole in the Goal. Something like a trade for a faceoff specialist who plays hockey better than Cody Eakin or for a gritty winger. Preferably both. He refuses to trade anything. This is his plan, he believes it needs more time. That's probably the most likely truth. The reality is, we may as well write this season off as well. I want to wait to see what happens with Brind'amour before hiring another full time coach. I feel bad for DG since KA hasn't done him any favours in helping the lineup BUT it's now unarguable that the team has took on his persona of being too nice. And again it makes no sense. A couple weeks ago, hanging onto a 1-goal lead late, HCDG trusted Rousek out on the ice. So when Girgs, and now Greenway are out -- two of the most responsible (if not the only) defensive forwards on the roster... why is Rosen still up instead of the older Rousek? No one in your bottom 6 should be out on the ice late in the game at this point. I'd only trust Tuch, Mitts, and Benson. You know... if they ever get a lead. Fire the coaching staff, bring in 3 or 4 vets, forwards, d men and a netminder with grizzle to their game, teach the kids how to stand up for themselves. It's obvious they fear their opponents, look what just happened between joki and a preds player.....we all see it, the fear....the fear to engage. It's easy to say "grow some balls" as fans, but when your on a team of fearful teammates, it's freezing them up. He confronted them, no hard checks, but actual body checks.
