Did the 05-06 team have a hall of famer?

No.

Miller will eventually get the nod. He is 14th all-time in wins (391), two more than Hasek (although Osgood is 13th).

Miller and Numminen are really the only 2 candidates that I can think of.  A Buffalo Cup win could have put them and possibly Drury in.

And the all time leader among Americans. I’m not so sure Quick ever gets the 16 to tie him.

edit: Hellebuyck needs 153. I’d say Miller is in before he is getting close.

He is 14th in NHL career wins, 30th in sv%.  He was an objectively great goalie.

I think he gets in with ease.

That’s a great accomplishment, but there’s probably a half dozen retired goalies not in the Hall that were better than him and another 3-4 sure things getting to the end of their careers who are all preferred over him.
He was a definitive #1, who for periods of weeks/months at a time was the best goalie in the league. If the Olympics don’t happen in 2010 there’s a good chance he doesn’t have any major awards to go along with zero cups.

We might have to enter another name into the hall of fame discussion. A certain head coach will move up to 4th all time in wins this season. 4 years of .500 hockey and only Bowman is ahead of him. If he can manage to win just one cup, I’d imagine he’s a slam dunk.

And I know those win stats are inflated thanks to the shoot out era, but I don’t think many care.

I agree with you and I also think the HOF is very hard on goaltenders for some reason.
There's something like 39 goalies in the HOF, with only five being inducted since 2006: Luongo, Brodeur, Vachon, Hasek, and Belfour.

I love me some Millsie, but I think he was a tier below the five I just mentioned.

What about Lundqvist?

Just googled it... Add Barrasso and Vernon to the list.

He won a Vezina to go along with the 2010 Olympics.

I don’t know man.  I’m still skeptical. Who do you have as goalies who were better than him but didn’t make the hall?

Who is Vachon?
