My guess is his parents left Bosnia or maybe Croatia as Serb refugees to Sweden during the early 1990s. Ratkovic is a Serb name and literally translates as ... 'War who son' as in son of war, but is usually taken to be warlike. So son of warlike or son of warrior. Ratko means war who in Serbian and the vic at the end of any name is son of, as in Mac or Mc (and no I do not want to start that all up again). In my experience you are a very hot Serb if you name your child Ratko. The most infamous Bosnian Serb named Ratko is Mladic ... also known as 'The Butcher of Bosnia'.

PerreaultForever
Well that's certainly a name and a half. RJ probably looked at that one and was glad he retired.

Rob Ray looked at that name and said "I hope that Joel never makes it up here".

Pity he's not a Marchand or Barnaby type, he's got "rat" built right in there.
