I saw Sublime at CMAC for the first time in 30 years with Bradley’s son Jakub singing.  It was even better than I hoped it could be.  It was packed.

I saw Jakubs other band play at the rec room 6-7 weeks prior to maybe around 40 people.  It was a fun show.

Canadian friends. Remember Amanda Marshall?

She was in town opening for Bryan Adams but before that show, she played a free mini show at Red Bird Brewing. My friend works there and saved us two seats. Incredible voice. Fantastic 5 song set.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to see the incredible Ruthie Foster at a small music hall in Golden, CO. If you like Blues with a tinge of folk and rock in there, she's as good as it gets. Incredibly tight band. Her personality is like a ray of sunshine and comes through in her Aretha Franklin-esque singing. I am not exaggerating - if she's playing near you sometime do yourself a favor and check it out.

Done with concerts for the year, but closed out the year with a bang.

Saw Jason Bonham and his band perform Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti 50th anniversary show.  Awesome.  They added some hit songs at the end as well.  His guitarist, Jimmy Sakurai, was amazing.

Just got home from seeing David Bryne.  A unique and terrific experience.  He mixed his solo songs with Talking Heads hits with a crazy stage and light show and a completely mobile band.  It's almost impossible to explain, but it was part rock concert, part stage show, part marching band.

These videos give a feel for the show.

If you get a chance, go see both shows.

I debated getting tix to this one but ultimately said no.  Ive seen Lamb of God a couple times already, and I just saw Kublai Khan last month as a headliner in the same venue, and holy ***** $90 for a show at Riverworks?  I bet thats one loud, lively show though.

I am going to see the Blissmas show at Riverworks next week.  Better Lovers is a hell of good metal band with a local connection, and the rest of the line up is on the obscure side, but it should be a super high energy show. The last 2 years Blissmas shows were terrific. I suspect we have similar tastes in music.  You should check it out.
