matter2003
Teppo has been brought back to be an assistant coach. Probably a pretty god move since I always thought of him as a coach on the ice...

RazielSabre
Excellent move, always seemed like a true veteran and professional. A player I truely respect. Ruff, Patrick and Numminem are all on the coaching staff and all ex-mobile defensement if I'm not mistaken, Adams is the only forward (or am I wrong?). Not highlighting it as an issue just rather humorous.

Teppo was pretty good and had a long career, but common, thats a little bit of an exageration :nana:

Eleven
Ah ok, fair enough. Many thanks. I'm assuming it wasn't exactly easy to follow the Sabres in the 1980s from England, so you definitely get a pass on that.

Lol, I would assume. I was only born in 1986, making it even more difficult. :D
5th line wingnutt
My wife said that the first year Chris Butler was up was Teppo's last year with the Sabres. I think she is right, but did not check it out. My wife and I both thought Butler was pretty good that year and never lived up to what we expected. Did Teppo's retirement stunt Butler? I always liked Teppo's game, but never appreciated him enough until he came to Buffalo. He was so calm out there. Like everyone, he made the odd mistake, but overall he was consistently good. Teppo will always be a favorite of mine. So many of his clears were of the 2 touch pull it in and pass it out variety that you could mistakenly think he wasn't working hard out there. His the reason the Yotes were any more than an Ice hockey team in the desert, to me at least.
FogBat
The part that surprises me is that Teppo didn't go back to Phoenix, given the amount of time he spent with the original Jets (now Coyotes) organization. However, he did say that he called Buffalo home now before his retirement - especially since his son was born here and his daughters were already going to school in this area. Thus, that might have a lot to do with him staying in WNY.

He always seemed to be a step ahead of everyone else out there. Great at reading plays before they even began. His calm confidence was to the point of eerieness. Doohickie
Most of his career was at the wing. Orly? I always thought of him as a D-man. Then again, I graduated high school just after he arrive on the scene, so I didn't keep up with later career while I was in college near Albany. The Sabres Alumni site has him playing only three seasons at LW: http://www.sabresalumni.com/playerprofile.php?playerid=10097 But I remember him playing there more than that. I may not be remembering correctly.
