PromoTheRobot
Dick Ebersol, head if NBC sports, is a guest of Gary Bettman's NHL Radio hour today. Just moments ago he said starting in 2012 every NHL playoff game will be aired nationally, though local channels will still carry the games as well. He was touting that as one big change that will be part of the new TV deal. PTR

Eleven
In the future, even NHL Center Ice shouldn't have to exist. Everything everywhere all the time. That probably will happen in this decade, albeit in a manner where money can be made off of you and me.
BuffalOhio
Don't get so excited about this, folks. If you live in a hockey-challenged area like I do, you might miss a lot of the games. This Sunday's game will be pre-empted here in Cleveland by an early-season Cleveland Indians game. This may happen to more people if this goes forward. I guess it's good for the game, but it sucks for me. I just don't want it to suck more often.
PromoTheRobot
I Think Ebersol was referring to using ancillary cable channels for the playoff, much like how CBS used TBS, TNT and TruTV to air NCAA tournament games. Get ready for the NHL on the Golf Channel. PTR

At least the Indians are doing well so far this year, though I think they've been fortunate in their scheduling.
