They look awesome, except for that logo. And they're just sitting on this alternate, which would just about perfect that set.

Here, something to actually feel good about: Buffalo Sabres @BuffaloSabres1m .@zemgus94 @mpysyk03 Mikhail Grigorenko @zadorov61 stopped by @HeritageCenters tonight. #CommunityAssist pic.twitter.com/DJzmfLaZhJ

Go for it. What are the chances they'll get shut out two games in a row? (Probably only like 40%.)

OFF TOPIC Will the Bills and Sabres Shuffle Out of Buffalo?
Robviously replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Aud Club
M&T merged with (or bought) a Baltimore-based bank so I'd still consider that a local sponsor. Major international companies would still be interested in Buffalo but our sponsorship money would obviously be way less than they'd give for other cities. -

I went to a Cowboys game for the first time a couple weeks ago. To call that place a "stadium" doesn't even feel right. Jerry Jones built the Death Star in Arlington. Don't even worry so much about the gazillion seats or the jumbotron the size of a small apartment building hanging over everything --- the big difference I noticed immediately was FOUR LEVELS of luxury suites. Ridiculous. Plus the giant jumbotron also basically had its own in-game broadcast team. So during the TV breaks they had their own in-game show going on and everything was sponsored by something. If the NFL ever gets the chance to add another one of these somewhere in the world, they're going to go after it hard. -

Sadly, I agree. There aren't enough corporate dollars in WNY to support an NFL team. There are barely any -- unless you think we can scoop up corporate sponsors from all the way up in Toronto. (And if that's the case, why haven't we already done that?) The Bills are already poor enough that they sell 1 home game a year. What's the long term strategy? I also don't think the NFL is super interested in staying in Buffalo. To show you where their collective head is at, the league has their heart set on landing a team in London at some point. With major international cities like London, Toronto, and Los Angeles all on the radar, I don't think Buffalo fits into what the NFL wants to be in the 21st century. The Sabres seems safe for the foreseeable future, though. -
BTW, if anyone is looking for a good horror book for Halloween or just the 2nd half of October, there's The Terror (above) or go with a classic like Salem's Lot by Stephen King. (King's early novels are tremendous and should not be missed.)

If the Sabres are lucky enough to land Reinhart, I'll feel a ton better about their long term outlook. He's not going to be Crosby but he should be a legit no.1 center in the NHL. Once you have one, it's a lot easier to slot everyone else in the organization in around that guy.

Sadly, I think it's more like that Myers will not pan out at this point.
-
I was wondering if anyone else caught that.
-
They haven't won a game yet. There's no way they could get worse, so the only two options we're left with are improvement or continued winlessness.
-
Possler is off to a terrific start too. When I first saw the numbers, I assumed it was a minor league in Sweden but he's leading MoDo in the top league over there.
-
Great idea. Let's all fall in love with Sam Reinhart. That should really pay off when we draft about 5-6 spots after he's gone. :(

Is there any chance that trades will be made before deadline?

Pysyk is averaging 20 minutes of ice time per game and somehow has a +1 through our disaster 0-5-1 start. He's definitely better than Myers right now and might already be the best passer on the team. And he's 21. He's not quite untouchable, but he's getting there. -
I was being facetious.
-
Why not? People do this all the time with regard to Vanek's contract and Edmonton's first round picks.

The Terror by Dan Simmons It's an alternate history + horror novel about two (real) Royal Navy ships that were lost at sea in the 1840s trying to find the Northwest Passage. Absolutely spectacular from start to finish. http://www.amazon.com/The-Terror-Novel-Dan-Simmons-ebook/dp/B000PAAH3A/ref=dp_kinw_strp_1

I'd be happy.

I'm amused that he became an untradeable disaster basically right on cue with the timeline I tossed out there. Why did fans understand this two years ago but our GM could not? The Sabres are a fun distraction for me after work, but this is Regier's job after a lifetime of hockey.

Because no one can tell him a single thing Darcy Regier has ever done wrong. Regier is awesome. GM for life. -
Just for fun, here's my first post in this thread (#4 on Page 1). This post is 22 months old on Monday.

I would say it's better than what Grigorenko used to do because Baptiste is doing it in a league where they actually play defense. Obviously he will not continue a 2ppg pace, but he still deserves some attention for flying out of the gates like this.
-
At the risk of jinxing this, Nick Baptiste is having a monster start to his OHL season. 6 games 8 goals + 4 assists = 12 points
-
Why do you think Jesse decided not to kill Walt?
-
Thank you! I called it the day we drafted him. No QB with 8 letters in his name is every going to amount to anything in this league! Unless you count Tom Brady.... EJ was stupid on that play but every running QB has to learn the hard way at some point that this isn't college and that NFL defenders are going to murder you if you aren't smart. Hopefully in this case the "hard way" is only missing this game.
