I guess you missed the story this season that the Sabres weren't happy with his attitude and moved his locker next to Ott's to see if that would help.

He's not far off. The Sabres have two prospects with a ton of potential for offense. One is a moody weirdo who dropped to us in the draft because teams didn't like his attitude (Grigorenko) and the other is a scoring winger who suffered TWO concussions in one season last year (Armia). It's not looking awesome.

Terry Pegula. Still can't think of anything Darcy Regier has ever done wrong. The guy just has a flawless track record.

Maybe we'll "tank" our way all the way to the 7th overall pick in 2014! I won't be shocked if Vanek or Miller is still here to start the season. And what is Ehrhoff still doing on this team? Does he really want to spend the rest of his prime years on a terrible, last place team? And couldn't the Sabres actually get something for him? If we're trying to bottom out, we're still doing it wrong.

Definitely. The Sabres made the trade to get ahead of Montreal and I was stunned it wasn't for Fucale. And then Montreal DID take Fucale one pick later.

We have a 33 year old Miller on his way out of town, and a bunch of so-so prospects (Enroth, Hackett, Makarov, Ullmark).

Add Fucale to the list with Nichushkin and Lazar as guys I hope don't come back to haunt us.

Not sure if they'd do it or not. They definitely like drafting local kids (Kaleta, Foligno, Lepkowski) but he might be a reach that high.

I'm on record saying the Sabres wouldn't complete the deals that they're supposed to get done. They certainly didn't surprise me today.

You're right, "no other trades" have been completed today. I see Darcy's supporters are as plugged in as he is.

He'll get paid a crapload of money whether he works out in the offseason or not. I doubt he cares.

It's a fine pick, but we're still nowhere up front. Contrary to popular belief, defense does NOT win championships. Guys who put the puck in the net do. Would be very happy if a Miller or Vanek trade went down and we got a 1st round pick to use on Lazar. Aaaaaaaaand, nevermind, the Sens took him just as I typed this. Way to go, Sabres!
