I'm thinking the next NFL Board of Governor's meeting looks like this: (NSFW) (Kim was born in Seoul, and may have Japanese heritage, not China, btw)

Pilut's NHLe is 34.8, but I think there's a larger uncertainty in his number because he's already 22, making him a developmental outlier from most of the rest of the players used to calculate NHLe from the SHL. I could be wrong and Pilut could be great.

Correct. I noticed this after posting. It'll be interesting to see if he switches from the European off-hand shooting side to the North American fast breakout side.

Dahlin will join Aaron Ekblad and Erik Johnson as the only defensemen taken first overall in the past 22 years. Dahlin has an NHL equivalency coming from the SHL at 23.2. Ekblad's was 22.5 coming from the OHL. Hedman was 23.2 coming from the SHL. Ristolainen was 10.5 coming from SM-Liiga. Dahlin is a left shot, Risto is a right shot. https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/juniors/big-read-rasmus-dahlin/

Holy Mackerel! Sabres Win Dahlin Lottery!

Rigged. -
I like it. Could be a 35 point bottom six guy if he gets a full season. But since we're awful, and 35 points would be good for 8th on the team, it may be less than that.

GDT: Rochester Ameri... err Buffalo Sabres vs Sens 4-4-18 7:30p EDT
IKnowPhysics replied to pi2000's topic in The Aud Club
Seen on reddit: "If the Sabres lose tonight in regulation they will be the first team in NHL history to finish 31st" Blech. -
Van will almost definitely retire their jerseys. They are the far-and-away leaders in all time Canucks regular season games played, points, and assists. Daniel is far and away 1st in goals (including GWG, and PPG). Henrik is 7th in goals and 1st in consecutive games played (679!). The trade engineering that took place to acquire their draft picks was special, and those two players defined that team from the time they were drafted until the time they retire(d).

Whose idea was the tank and whose decision was it?

This thread is bad and PA should feel bad. -
When we don't win, it's all we got.
-
If we win this game: Our chances of picking 1st overall drop from 18% to 10.5%. Our chances of picking in the top two drop from from 30.4% to 20.9%. Our chances of picking in the top three drop from 48.1% to 31.2%. Our chances of picking in the top four drop from 100% to 43.4%. Just sayin'.

If I lived in town, I would go regularly. I loved going to women's college hockey games, and I'm excited that there's an startup women's pro league. If the league can keep it's financial together, it has the ability to really grow the sport.

It can be rationalized all day long. And I'm not even really mad at Botterill, because I do understand the rationale. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed about the fact we got dick for a 30 goal scorer who performed among the best players on the team. I think it comes down to bad timing on Botterill's part on two counts. First, and not his fault, the timing of his arrival with regard to Kane's term. Botterill wanted to do a wait and see on all the players, so it wouldn't make sense to jump the gun and re-sign Kane right away. But he couldn't get much return for a player with no term when didn't like what he found. He could have done a sign and trade, but that carries hefty risk. Second, he didn't pull the trigger when he was offered a first last week. He had been shopping Kane for a while, and if he wasn't familiar enough with the market for Kane to know when to bite, that's on him. Maybe that team pulled the rug out from under him and gave the wrong/no impression of soft deadline, but the return was available at some point.

Harrington punctuated the disagreement in his article today. http://buffalonews.com/2018/02/27/sabres-notebook-e-rod-bullish-on-oregan-lehner-rebukes-blogger-frantic-kane-makes-sharks-debut/ He didn't have to vent on Twitter, but I think he closed the issue. Journalists earn and keep access. Even in today's twittersphere, non-journalists should still be vetted before being relied on.
