  3. On home ice, out of 54 goalies who have played >400min, he ranks 52nd in save percentage. On the road, out of 72 goalies who have played >300min, he ranks 47th in save percentage. A number 1 he is not.

They have home/away goalie stats as well if you want to see who specifically is sucking..... Home: Anderson: 2.87 GA/60, 3.06 xGA/60, .919sv% UPL: 4.09 GA/60, 2.47 xGA/60, .876sv% Comrie: 3.76 GA/60, 2.47 xGA/60, .863sv% Out of 54 goalies who have played >400min on home ice, UPL and Comrie rank 49th and 52nd in save percentage. Anderson 13th. That said on the road, out of 72 goalies who have played >300min (Comrie has played 391 min on the road), UPL ranks 21st, Anderson 24th and Comrie 47th in save percentage. Comrie is pretty much trash both home and away. WRT save percentage UPL ranks in the top 3rd of the league on road, and nearly DFL at home. Why is he so bad at home, where the team is actually playing better in front of him? On the road UPL faces 34 shots/60, and 14 high danger chances/60... at home he faces 33 shots/60 and 12 high danger chances/60. And yet his sv% is nearly 4 percentage points better on the road (.912 vs .876). Maybe it's a young goalie thing? Too many nerves at home perhaps?

I updated the post with CF%... Buffalo actually as the 4th best CF% at home in the entire league... and 29th SV%.

No, it's goaltending. Home: 107 GA, 86 xGA, .880 SV%, .777 HDSV% Away: 85 GA, 92 xGA, .905 SV%, .840 HDSV% The team actually plays "better" at home.... 54% CF at home vs 49% on the road.... that's the 4th best CF% at home. The goaltending sucks, 3rd worst SV% at home in the entire league.
  9. A dog is smarter than its tail, but if the tail were smarter, then it would wag the dog.
  10. Goaltending, thought both Comrie and UPL would be better. Team defense is still lacking. The lack of improvement in their own end over the course of the season is disappointing, and that's on Granato.
  11. He's a plus skater, not overtly physical, makes good decisions, good first pass, flashes offensively on occasion. His ceiling is a left-handed Henri Jokiharju, similar stature and style. That said, I'm not convinced he's going to sign. If he does, he'll most likely begin his pro career in Roch, with perhaps a late season call-up.
  12. Home: Anderson: .918 2.89 UPL: .883 3.82 Comrie: .863 3.76 Road: Anderson: .910 2.83 UPL: .914 2.96 Comrie: .900 3.22
  13. Yep... they'll need a points percentage of around .560 to keep pace, which is roughly 18 out of 32 points. A few other teams could get hot, so yeah 20-22 probably needed to stay within reach.
  14. Well here we go... Tonight they embark on a stretch of 16 games in 28 days. They'll need at least 23-24 out of a possible 32 points to stay in the wildcard race.
  15. he better be good
  16. Scrambling the lines in Granato's way of sending a message to his players. If the effort level returns, I'd expect the lines go back to normal... perhaps by the second or third period.
  17. I'd start Anderson, he's well rested and has superior numbers on home ice vs UPL or Comrie. At home Comrie has a GAA of 3.76 vs xGAA of 2.47. UPL is only slightly better with a GAA of 3.53 vs xGAA of 2.85. Anderson's GAA at home is actually better than his xGAA (2.89 vs 3.13).
  18. Generational
  19. It's truly dumb. They have 9 days off, then shortly after a stretch of 16 games in 28 days... with 5 back-to-backs over their final 27 games.
  20. Isn't there an agility contest where they weave through cones and whatnot? He'd do well. If there's a "weakness" in his game it's his shot velocity.

    Home record

I looked at some numbers and they indicate that goaltending has been worse at home than on the road. CorsiFor%: 4th at home, 18th on the road... they're "outplaying" teams at home, but losing. Shooting%: 7th at home, 2nd on the road.. shooting well both home and away. Save%: 24th at home, 12th on the road... bottom 3rd of the league at home. HighDangerSave%: 25th at home, 12th on the road. The've given up 15 goals over expected at home (GA 94, xGA 79).... on the road they've given up 8 goals fewer than expected (GA 75, xGA 83). Looking deeper at each goalie...... at home Comrie has a GAA of 3.76 and xGAA of 2.47... that's over a goal worse than expected. UPL is only slightly better with a GAA of 3.53 vs xGAA of 2.85. Anderson's GAA at home is actually better than his xGAA (2.89 vs 3.13). On the road, all 3 have better GAA than xGAA. It's just at home where Comrie and UPL struggle which is costing them games.
  22. 11-13-2 at home (.462 point%, 24th) 15-7-2 on the road (.667 point%, 8th) Who's fault is it?
  23. Sabres defensemen who made the All-Star team: Alexei Zhitnik Mike Ramsey Jim Schoenfeld Jerry Korab Phil Housley Brian Campbell Rasmus Dahlin (2022) In 2011 there were no Sabres on either team. Zemgus Girgensons was an All-Star in 2015, Okposo (w/ Buffalo) in 2017. My message to Rasmus? Do better.
