  1. Scrambling the lines in Granato's way of sending a message to his players. If the effort level returns, I'd expect the lines go back to normal... perhaps by the second or third period.
  2. I'd start Anderson, he's well rested and has superior numbers on home ice vs UPL or Comrie. At home Comrie has a GAA of 3.76 vs xGAA of 2.47. UPL is only slightly better with a GAA of 3.53 vs xGAA of 2.85. Anderson's GAA at home is actually better than his xGAA (2.89 vs 3.13).
  3. Generational
  4. It's truly dumb. They have 9 days off, then shortly after a stretch of 16 games in 28 days... with 5 back-to-backs over their final 27 games.
  5. Isn't there an agility contest where they weave through cones and whatnot? He'd do well. If there's a "weakness" in his game it's his shot velocity.

    Home record

I looked at some numbers and they indicate that goaltending has been worse at home than on the road. CorsiFor%: 4th at home, 18th on the road... they're "outplaying" teams at home, but losing. Shooting%: 7th at home, 2nd on the road.. shooting well both home and away. Save%: 24th at home, 12th on the road... bottom 3rd of the league at home. HighDangerSave%: 25th at home, 12th on the road. The've given up 15 goals over expected at home (GA 94, xGA 79).... on the road they've given up 8 goals fewer than expected (GA 75, xGA 83). Looking deeper at each goalie...... at home Comrie has a GAA of 3.76 and xGAA of 2.47... that's over a goal worse than expected. UPL is only slightly better with a GAA of 3.53 vs xGAA of 2.85. Anderson's GAA at home is actually better than his xGAA (2.89 vs 3.13). On the road, all 3 have better GAA than xGAA. It's just at home where Comrie and UPL struggle which is costing them games.
  7. 11-13-2 at home (.462 point%, 24th) 15-7-2 on the road (.667 point%, 8th) Who's fault is it?
  8. Sabres defensemen who made the All-Star team: Alexei Zhitnik Mike Ramsey Jim Schoenfeld Jerry Korab Phil Housley Brian Campbell Rasmus Dahlin (2022) In 2011 there were no Sabres on either team. Zemgus Girgensons was an All-Star in 2015, Okposo (w/ Buffalo) in 2017. My message to Rasmus? Do better.
  9. Without a doubt, the goal should be 110% every single shift, start to finish. There will be ups and downs, moments where you just don't have it, but that doesn't mean you intentionally take shifts off. Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.
  10. Sounds great, but I (for one) don't need to hear it.... I need to see it. Do better. Make the playoffs.
  11. In their upside down inside out backward reverse retro throwbacks nonetheless.
  12. My goodness, these guys are hockey players. Everyone is banged up a bit at this stage..... lace em up.
  13. So they need about 42 points over their final 33 games to put them at 98 points... which probably gets them in? That's something like 19-10-4 to finish the season. That's gonna be tough. That said, whatever happens at least we're talking about playoffs in late January which is fun.
  14. It is. They finished the 12 game in 20 day marathon at 6-5-1. That said they won only 2 home games over that stretch... losing 3 in a row to PHI, SEA and WPG. If you're serious about about making a playoff push.... Do better.
  15. Tonight we'll get an up close look at a guy many folks thought the Sabres should've drafted ahead of Jack Quinn.... the can't miss Austrian center prospect Marco Rossi. Nevermind he's not in the NHL yet 😂.
  16. Why is Cozens out? DG sounded confident he'd be good to go.
  17. I chuckled, but have no idea what you mean by that. OK, I'll allow it. Comrie should be plenty motivated and knows their shooters... on the flip side, the shooters also know Comrie and will certainly try to exploit his weaknesses.
  18. How she got there doesn't matter. She's living proof that women can succeed as executives in professional sports.
  19. Confirmed... Comrie gets the nod. Setting him up to fail perhaps?
  20. McCabe is their best defenseman.... He'd be a huge upgrade over Bryson. ============================================================== CHI even strength goal differential through 46 games = -46 CHI even strength minutes played through 46 games = 2331.18 exp+/- is a function of %min played at ES and team ES goal diff TRpm(team relative +/-) is the diff btwn actual+/- and exp+/- %min is % of ES minutes played ============================================================== Team Player TRpm GP +/- exp+/- %min CHI Jake McCabe 17.60 43 3 -14.60 31.7 CHI Connor Murphy 14.65 46 -1 -15.65 34.0 CHI Tyler Johnson 4.62 22 -1 -5.62 12.2 CHI Jarred Tinordi 3.43 25 -4 -7.43 16.1 CHI Lukas Reichel 3.05 4 2 -1.05 2.3 CHI Sam Lafferty 2.75 40 -7 -9.75 21.2 CHI Max Domi 1.59 46 -12 -13.59 29.5 ..... ============================================================== BUF even strength goal differential through 47 games = 8 BUF even strength minutes played through 47 games = 2339.25 exp+/- is a function of %min played at ES and team ES goal diff TRpm(team relative +/-) is the diff btwn actual+/- and exp+/- %min is % of ES minutes played ============================================================== Team Player TRpm GP +/- exp+/- %min ... 21. I understand their right to privacy in this situation, and I fully respect that. That said, she's not your everyday run-of-the-mill public figure. She's a pioneer in field of professional sports, featured in many prominent business journals and media outlets. An inspiration for young women who have similar aspirations. I pray she fully recovers, but the lack of any information what-so-ever is concerning. Do they provide an update at some point? Or do they just let her slowly fade from our memories and all those young women who look up to her?
  22. I don't believe any of this. KA's front office doesn't leak these activities to the press. TSN has been off base on these Sabres reports ever since KA took over.
