Update: Sabres sign D Man Viktor Antipin to 1yr ELC
pi2000 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Trade him to Vegas as part of deal for them to take Moulson off our hands in expansion draft. -
found a link to an official prototype...

I'd be ok with just getting rid of the silver piping, but royal blue would be ideal.

Expectations for Guhle for next season and beyond?
pi2000 replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
This is the modern NHL, look at guys like Montour, Chychrun, Hanifin, Ekblad, Provorov, Carlo, etc... this isn't 10 years ago where defensemen take years to develop. Today's game places a premium on defensemen who can skate and Guhle is right there. -

Update: Sabres sign D Man Viktor Antipin to 1yr ELC
pi2000 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Trump didn't get to buy the Bills so he conspired with Putin to derail the Sabres season getting Murray fired, hiring J-Bot and getting his friend Antipin an NHL contract. That's the universe we live in. -
He should've stayed in junior (or SWE), like Reinhart.
-
Murray also wanted to improve Roch and stressed building a winner, which is something every single GM wants to do, it's nothing revolutionary. The issue with BUF and similar to other bottom feeders is that they're always picking near the top of the draft and those guys end up playing on the big club very early in their careers (straight out of junior/college) because they're talented enough and there isn't any competition for spots. As a result there's a significant talent void in Roch. Teams like ANA, SJ, CHI, etc... have stronger farm teams because A) they're picking near the bottom of the draft and those players need more time to develop and B) there is no room on the big club for those players when they finish their junior/college careers. To create a winner in Roch, BUF needs to improve their talent at the NHL level which means they'll be picking lower in the draft, and they won't need to rush guys up to BUF because of a lack of depth.

Haha, true! ...I find it ironic that I've made 2 or 3 posts complaining of unrelated posts in this thread, when those posts in and of themselves have nothing to do with the thread title. Consider there are infinite parallel...

Apparently she went to some kind of retreat/rehab thing which helped fix her attitude. 1 - The the discussion went completely off topic because of the content of your post... which is a minor annoyance for those of us who come here to read stuff related to the title of the thread. 2 - People were just reacting to your comment... which wouldn't have happened if you didn't make such a biased comment in the first place. 3 - I'll post what I like, and you'll post what I like :)

Well stated. I come here to discuss sports and forget about all that other stuff. Go discuss that stuff somewhere else, there are plenty of options.

let gionta walk, sign Matt Cullen

I use this site for work when trying to figure out meeting times for our offices in EMEA and APJ... https://www.worldtimebuddy.com/

He answered 20 questions.... I blacked out about half-way through, not sure how it ended. https://www.nhl.com/sabres/video/20-questions-with-jason-botterill/t-277437090/c-51957503

Agree 100%. He's a nice depth guy to stash in Roch, but will never be a regular at the NHL level... just not big and strong enough for the type of game he plays.

TSN's Cullen - Off-season Gameplan for the Sabres
pi2000 replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Again, Risto is still figuring out how to defend. He's physical has good offensive awareness, but needs to develop his defensive game, especially in tight around the net where his lack of quickness, agility and slow feet get him trouble. He'll figure it out as his game matures. -
Reinhart, Baptiste for Letang

...i should clarify... in this universe he never called her a c#nt.

This is dumb. TM never called her that or any other name. Complete fabrication.

Robin Lehner RFA - to Sign or Trade that is the question!
pi2000 replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
If they expose Lehner while he's an RFA and LV takes him (signs him prior to July 1st), then his salary (whatever LV signs him for) doesn't count toward the minimum cap number they must hit in the expansion draft. LV needs to think long and hard about "drafting" any RFA/UFAs because it won't help them reach the min cap number... there are other more enticing RFAs likely to be available, and they probably only take maybe 1 or 2 at most. -
OK, well my thoughts on Bogo are well documented. He's a brain cramp waiting to happen, a turnover machine who lacks focus and cares more about his paycheck than winning. A new coach isn't going to change that.
-
I can't believe this is even a topic of discussion. It's gonna be a looooong offseason.
-
I think he understands the nuances of the cap very well but I'm not entirely sold on how it was managed in PIT. Next season the Pens have just 13 skaters under contract, with only $12m in cap space to fill 12 spots on the roster. They have $52m, over 70% of their cap, tied up in only 9 players. $38m, 50% of their cap, is going to 5 players.... Crosy, Maklin. Kessel, Letang, Fluery. That said it seems his philosophy is to pay the stars, then fill in around them with young players on ELCs and such.... I'm not so sure that's going to work consistently. I understand he put a big emphasis on developing the young players, but it's rare that you have 4 guys like Sheary (undrafted), Guentzel (3rd rnd), Rust (3rd rnd), and Kuhnhackl (4th rnd) all making such large contributions. Without those 4 performing as well as they have, I'm not sure PIT is in their current position.

Desiring a successful AHL franchise is nothing new. GMTM said the same thing when he started. Not gonna happen overnight, I thought Roch got better as the season dragged on. It's inevitable they'll get better has they continue to stock the team with upper round picks.
