  1. I do agree with you on this but the Sabres were in a corner at the time: The way Regier handled Briere and messed that up and they lose Drury I can see why the Sabres matched the offer for Vanek they could not afford to lose all 3 players after a big season. So it comes back to the same thing: Consider the GM and until that changes, a bunch of draft picks do nothing for me to convince me that any of these trades are good for Buffalo.
  2. If this organization is angling for Conor McDavid when even IF with the worst record, the Sabres will only have a 25% chance of getting the #1 pick: Then the Sabres are even more foolish then I imagined.
  3. Terrible trade. And here is why: Ok the Sabres now have: 2 First Round Picks and 3 Second Round Picks in the 2014 NHL Draft 1 First Round Pick and 3 Second Round Picks in the 2015 NHL Draft That is great and all, but even the odds of 2nd rounders really making it in the NHL are not all that good. Also consider this: When is the last time a team like the Red Wings needed all these picks to find gems in the draft? This trade just ensures that Darcy Regier WILL be here a lot longer then a lot of us are going to want. Do any of us truly trust that Darcy is going to make the right selections to build the franchise the way it should be? Pegula has made the Buffalo Sabres the biggest joke in the NHL. Well done Terrence.
  4. Didn't the Sabres want to deal up to #5 overall and draft Lindholm?
  5. Is McDavid in next year's draft or the year after that?
  6. Use the compliance buyout on Myers. Oh wait, Darcy will find some 800K guy to use that on again next season.
  7. Bingo. I can name 25 NHL teams that have better prospects then Buffalo AND are not claiming they are going through a rebuild. But hey, we should believe Darcy on this one. Pegula is really looking like a bafoon. Amazing to think how far his star is fallen considering how he took over the Buffalo franchise.
  8. Carolina was looking for CB's off the street this week and they beat the Giants 38-0 Injuries are just excuses for bad NFL teams, which is exactly what the Bills are.
  9. The General is the Gold Standard of Auto Insurance! Who wouldn't trust this face? :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:
  10. +100 I actually like the move. Get er done Darcy!

  12. I have had weight issues for quite awhile...was on a roll last summer finally hit my groove and then I tore my quad tendon in a freak accident going down the steps on my WAY to the gym. Since then I have done OK i suppose, but during my rehab I couldn't even bend my leg for over 6 weeks, and then it has been the long road to recovery. But I am finally to the point where walking is just fine so I'm taking it literally one step at a time. That is what my recovery taught me the most. It took years for me to pack on this weight that I embarrassingly have. But I cannot take it off in 1 month. So one step at a time. What I am finding though is never slack on the eating part. It is a daily challenge, and I am finally starting to conquer that but it is slow process. Balance is key. More natural foods definitely help. Balance the carbs and eat good protein, not a bunch of processed meats. Consistency is my biggest problem, it is not that I am not a total failure, it is just that I don't make progress. I am the Darcy Regier of weight loss: Status Quo. After the leg started to feel better, then the back was an issue. In short, do not ever tear your quad tendon, it is a rough road back.
  13. Ok I will bite: Another point is this: If the Capitals would make Ovechkin available, Sabres have nowhere near enough attractive assets to trade. And if you say Vanek you are fooling yourself: He makes 7M and needs a contract, Sabres don't have the high end young talent WITH good contracts to throw back plus Vanek. MANY other teams have better offers to offer.
  14. Truer words have never been spoken. Larry Brooks is a tool. And I know that firsthand.
  15. We should have known that Terry Pegula was too good to be true. I sure fell for it. No more.
  16. Good point, also a couple of Devils fans are all up in arms about Miller talking 'trash' to Henrique after stopping his shootout attempt...as if they knew what was said. It is amazing how whiny NJ fans can be given all their success.
  17. 3rd game in 4 nights....Rangers rested and home...this is a tough spot. Enroth likely. I would be thrilled just to get to OT.
  18. This. The 3 game winning streak is nice but I am far from sold on what I am seeing as well. Also a footnote, NJ fans are really bitching about this game, were the Sabres classless like some of them are claiming?
  19. Great post. Let's be fair about this team, there are plenty of flaws. There is no 'waking up' and the Sabres run off 11 of 12 this year. This team plays better when the pressure is off, so i expect once they hit rock bottom, a winning streak is coming, and thus the tease effect. Pegula needs to wake up, fire Lindy and Darcy, be sellers at the deadline, and get this franchise out of the muck in the middle moving forward to becoming an elite team.
  20. Here is 1 thought: What if the GM is/was Brian Burke? LOL Considering the exhorbant prices of tickets these days, I cannot blame some fans for flipping tickets to make a buck. It is happening more and more everywhere.
  21. The Sabres are absolutely worth watching. I know it has been a tough start for this season, but we still have some very promising young talent on this roster. First priority to me is to figure out what the living hell has happened to Tyler Myers and how can they get him back on track. The defense is a mess for a number of reasons: Myers poor play, injuries and such. And even more frustrating to me is how many empty losses the Sabres have...no OT or shootout losses to get those cheap points.
  22. Tell that to Los Angeles Kings fans last year about their pointless run for 8th I agree. I still do think Lindy is a good coach, but like a guy somewhat similar to Andy Reid in Philadelphia...sometimes you need a new voice, just to have a new voice and this situation with Ruff calls for that. The Sabres aren't ready to be elite with just a coaching change, but this start is unacceptable.
  23. Some very interesting points brought up in this thread, and i think in the back of the mind of a lot of Sabres fans, Pegula being such a big fan of this team could work against him. At least that was mine. But just keep in mind this is Pegula's first rodeo being an owner of a NHL team. He has only been at it for a couple of years. It is a learning process for him too and I hope he is learning along the way that there is a fine line between caring and meddling. And I just have this feeling that Pegula is smart enough to realize that he can only give so much input on the hockey decisions of this franchise. Pegula wants to win, and money is no longer an issue here. Players want to be here, and will come here, because of what Pegula is bringing to the table. It sure beats the Rigas, Golisano alternatives. And just remember, we almost won (and probably should have) a Cup with Golisano.
