    Zadorov?

I'm thinking cap floor had something to do with it, too.
  2. If I had to guess, I'd be inclined to agree with shrader but we're talking what, 3 or 4 years out? Who knows?
  3. Bill Hoppe ‏@BillHoppeNHL 9s10 seconds ago Sam Reinhart and Zemgus Girgensons have switched spots today ... Girgensons between Hodgson and Gionta. #Sabres
  4. Sabres PR ‏@SabresPR 2m2 minutes ago #Sabres roster move: Forward Johan Larsson has been assigned to the Rochester Americans (AHL)
  5. Bucky wrote a good article about 95-96's Hardest Working team In Hockey and drew comparisons with this team (Audette=Gionta, May=Foligno, Peca=Girgs). That team was low on talent but was always entertaining and was by all accounts was a difficult team to play against. As long as the effort is there and they play a physical game, they'll be fun to watch and easy to cheer for win or lose. If you want to read it: http://www.buffalonews.com/columns/bucky-gleason/sabres-will-not-take-nights-off-20141010
  6. Cara Foligno ‏@carafoligno 15m15 minutes ago All smiles for now! @BuffaloSabres @BlueJacketsNHL
  7. Thanks - it looks like it's been somewhat confirmed: ‏@JoeYerdon 3 minutes ago Jhonas Enroth will be your starter for Buffalo. No surprise. EDIT: Just looked over those lines again, mildly surprised Flynn is getting the nod over Mitchel...
  8. Do we know for sure who's playing in goal for Bflo? Jhonas or not yet confirmed?
  9. I don't think you know what "strawman" means. Anyway, it will be interesting to see what Johansen looks like without the benefit of a camp. I hope the Sabres keep a body on him and make it a loooong night.
  10. Agreed. The whole thing about a top pick meaning we win the Cup in a few years is as big a straw man as there is. There is a lot of upcoming youth in the organization and a handful of good vets. Let's drop the tank talk and win some games boys!
  11. I agree that they are huge money suckers, for sure. And my apologies if I sounded judgmental, I was just surprised to see that - hopefully I didn't imply anything unintended.
  12. I find that absolutely amazing.
  13. I'm not talking about the makes/models I drive (I learned my lesson last time!) but I will say one is automatic with a turbo and the other is a supercharged manual that even allows me to control gear ratios on the fly which is an absolute freaking blast. Whether I drive the auto or manual depends on my mood and/or whether one passenger seat will be enough.
  14. I think most people feel NE's OL has regressed from last year.
  15. I'm cool with him in Buffalo for 9 (non-consecutive) games but then he needs to go back down to Kootenay. It's not about him skating circles around 16 year olds, it's about him getting a year to fill out and get stronger. I just don't see his frame being physically capable of taking the pounding he'd get in the NHL over 82 games.
  16. I'm in the "Meh, who cares; you don't need a letter to lead" camp but I do like the choices - even if I'm mildly surprised Moulson got the A over Staff after hearing he and Ted supposedly have a strong relationship.
  17. Rob Ray on WGR just said RJ recently completed his treatments and is having a tough go dealing with the symptoms but that his spirit is still good and he hasn't lost his sense of humor.
  18. Carolina Hurricanes ‏@NHLCanes 3m NEWS: Jordan Staal suffers broken bone in leg during #Canes preseason game. Details: http://m.carhur.com/079MW
  19. Leaders are leaders regardless of what letter, if any, is embroidered onto the front of his sweater. If a guy needs that letter to be a leader, he isn't much of one in the first place.
  20. I think the stats are only as good as the person interpreting them - and the same is true for the eye test. But it looks like this is being discussed as a zero-sum game for some reason. I don't view it as an either-or situation and think components of both would be ideal.
  21. Regarding Staal, he had x-rays at FNC but the team won't learn the results until they're on the road. He was on crutches after the game but no boot, brace, or air cast. Hopefully that's a good sign for him. I don't like to see injuries in preseason, hopefully he'll be ready to go for the season. EDIT---> Looks like he ended up with a cast after all: John Shannon ‏@JSportsnet 3m Jordan Staal leaves First Niagara Center on crutches...sporting a cast on his lower leg... it's not a knee injury. Ankle, foot or tendon
  22. I can't say I disagree with this part of his remarks: "In modern day hockey there's a lot of emphasis put on analytics and how much possession time, but you can never underestimate the human aspect of the game. Hockey's not all that difficult, there's a science to it, but it's not rocket science."
  23. Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC 1m Regarding the #Sabres camp roster: some line combos appear shaded, others in light type face due to color coding. Except copies are B&W.
